Anyone compared Firstwatt J2 vs Pass Xa25?
I’m purchasing one of the two (used) to go with my Zu Omen Defs. I have a PS Audio bhk pre. The J2 being lower priced plus has balanced inputs. The Xa25 has more power than advertised and looks nicer.
Just curious if anyone has compared both and has any thoughts to share.

watching steve review of the sit 3 i notice he mentions the xa25 and the sit 3 didn`t sound that good with his zu speakers

i am interested in both the j2 and the xa25 and one of the latter came up for sale recently . the person had upgraded to a 30.8 which is a very big amp . the thing that attracts me to these 2 amps you mention is they are reasonably sized1]bel canto EIX/ F5 monoblocks . I got my brother both the XA25 and SIT3, I don’t know the other First Watt amps. Once the XA25 was broken in, he flipped over it, until he heard the SIT3 warmed up and broken in. He loves the SIT3 most. Sorry if this doesn’t answer your question but I’m head over heels for my SIT3 as well.

I upgraded the power supply on my Gigafoil v4 to a Weiss PSU 102. It’s very nice step up. But with the new model, you’re looking at $2000 before even investing in a SOTA linear power supply.
