LOL. Exactly!! I'm not paid / incentivized by the manufactures for my reviews like so many others are (even ones who claim they are not - they do get rewarded indirectly).

Plus, hopefully it sparks someones interest enough to click on the video. LOL

You made the accusations, you gotta back it up with facts. Please enlighten us with how the game is played. Otherwise it’s just Qaudio.

You started this mess by boldly declaring that your "review" of the Pass Labs integrated amp was the first "honest" review. If you aren't willing to back up your statement with facts, you shouldn't be tossing hand grenades at reviewers while proclaiming your virtue.

slowly getting tired of all the "youtube" reviewers (not just the audio ones), I am forcing myself to start listening to music without laptop/Ipad again, as I used to do in the past, so much more enjoyable in the end.

I can look past what I don't want to watch on YT pretty easily. For me it's the political crap that annoys me.

As I have always maintained - and in fact have a video on - I argue ANY reviewer should be viewed as entertainment only as their review is useless for so many reasons. I certainly would never base a buying decision off ANY reviewer.

I enjoy all the reviewers and their different styles and again watch them as entertainment.

The danger becomes when people - and the reviewers - start to think the reviewers are somehow special people and know something we don't. At the end of the day the ONLY thing we need to trust is our ears. Not measurements. Not what some "reviewer" states on a web site, magazine or internet video.

I don't really care if anyone watches my videos - I just don't take myself that serioulsy. And I go out of my way to state it is what I hear which will likely be different than from what YOU hear for a variety of reasons. I sure as heck don't take myself seriously and only do it for fun. If anyone can watch my video on converting a cable skeptic and really think is meant to be anything but fun and humorous - they need some help.

I think the "new media" with many of the popular YT reviewers has helped knocked the legacy reviwers down a few pegs and they don't know how to deal with it. For the longest time they were the arbiters of what people thought on equipment. Now they are a speck in the landscape of reviews and information.

If you don't really care if anyone watches your videos, why are you asking people to join your channel?

Since you can't even spell seriously, it's probably a good idea that you don't take yourself seriously. However, even though you claim not to take yourself seriously, you are using this thread on your YouTube channel to attempt to gin up attacks on reviewers and hopefully gain more viewers that you claim you don't care about.

Re: Review of Pass Labs INT-60

Thanks for the review, which I enjoyed. I can't say that I enjoyed the little war that ensued. It is the content of the video that matters to me, not my interpretation of what the title might be implying.

Even a casual reader and hobbyist like me has come to believe that some, NOT ALL reviewers are not always 100% subjective and unaffected by monetary considerations from the equipment makers when offering their reviews. Something, in my reading of reviews for the last 40 years, may have led me to this understanding...

Can't we accept that 1) Michael changed the title of the video (possibly) based on the backlash received, and 2) An audio reviewer stood up for his trade when he (possibly) perceived a slight, and just move on? I for one would surely hate to see this forum devolve into the all-too-common "constant bickering/everyone has to be right and get the last word in" cesspool like so many other places. Thanks in advance to all parties concerned for not letting that happen here.

You have a newbie here on AS who proclaimed himself as the only "honest" reviewer while he is trying to build subscribers for his audio "reviews" on his YouTube channel. Sounds like you are OK with that.

100% agree! You have my full support.

I love this forum and come here to relax and enjoy talking about audio. I have no ill-will towards anyone and will not perpetuate any further discussions on my video. That is why I am not engaging them any further. I explained myself and clarified it was not aimed at them.

I still respect them as reviewers and wish them them best.

Not that it really matters, but I think YouTube audiophile channels are possibly useful to generate interest in high-end audio but of little or no use to people who are already audiophiles.

Hi Smile - thanks for watching one of my vids.

I do enjoy watching the ones you've listed. I also like Darko Audio and Jay myself. Some I find informative but they put me to sleep. LOL

They all have dozens and even hundreds of videos under their belts and I have but a few. I do hope as I make more videos I can continue to improve while still having fun doing it, and grow to even be 1/4 as good as they are some day.

Good news is different people like different reviewing/video styles - and with all the different vids on YT, everyone can find a style/channel they enjoy watching.

    Thanks again for watching.

The average Stereophile reader is 47, 10 years older than a decade ago. Pretty obvious mostly boomers read it now. So go YouTube- any media format that expands our hobby to a younger audience is great.

I think YT offers an advantage legacy media does not. Mike talks about this in my latest video interview with him. In the end I think all videos/reviews/magazine articles range between pure entertainment to offering advice (good or bad).

At the end of the day its up to the recipient on how much weight to put on what they watch/read. I enjoy videos and such from a purely entertainment viewpoint to see what others think and to get a feel for gear far better than any written review. I also think YT has allowed more voices and opinions to be heard then pre-YT days to the benefit of both the consumer and the manufacturers.

To each their own and that is a good thing.

I find some video reviewers interesting and helpful. Darko, Audiophiliac and Mike's Suncoast videos are prime examples. Michael's Minute has now been added to that list for me.

Would I buy any piece of equipment unseen based on a reviewer's impressions? Not likely, with one or two factory-direct exceptions. But when something merits high praise from one or more people whose opinion(s) I respect, I will be more likely to investigate that product further.

Now when you have a dealer that puts out informative videos in addition to having a well-established brick-and-mortar store, PLUS runs what I consider to be the best internet audio forum that I've found - THAT is someone that I hope and intend to do business with when funds permit.

I've only made a couple of small purchases from Mike and Suncoast so far - the LUMIN remote package and a Wireworld Starlight 8 ethernet cable from my switch to the LUMIN (which Mike recommended), both of which I thoroughly enjoy. I can't wait for my next trip to Florida, assuming that a bunch of money and health issues get sorted out. Suncoast will be on my must-visit list for sure.

Thank you. I hope the health issues continue to improve and we see you soon. Maybe in time for the Florida Audio Expo in February?

Thanks for the kind wishes, Mike.

Probably not the Florida Expo. A couple of surgeries coming up. Nothing too major - one shoulder that I had rotator cuff surgery on in January and now there's a second tear that will require another procedure, plus relatively routine surgeries on both hands to fix trigger fingers and Dupuytren's contracture and to grind down a huge arthritis knob or two. Anyway, I'll be laid up for a while. The Florida trip is something to eagerly look forward to, though.

Not fun for sure, but we hope you get better soon!

Thank you for the kind words! I also enjoy Darko very much myself. He's one of the few that's able to keep my very short attention span.

I agree with everything you've sad about Mike which is why I've spent so much money with him. The amount of time, effort and care he puts into sharing information and his customers is unmatched by other dealers from what I've seen.

I will light a candle at church for you this week in hopes of you getting better soon!
