Re: what Phono stage do you using?

I ended up buying a Zesto Andros. I haven’t had a chance to spend serious time with it, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be happy with it.

Luxman EQ 500 and loving it! This will be my end game phono stage, since I am tired of the component upgrade game!

DSA Phono II (Dynamic Sounds Associates). Three inputs, four levels of amplification, and any loading you can imagine from 25 to 1575 in 25 ohm steps.

I had a Sonneteer Sedley for a really long time. It was an excellent solid state phono pre. Large power supply, simple design, premium components and a lot of loading options. I then tried a 12 tube Balanced Audio Technology VK-P6 with Super Pak and was smitten. I then moved to an Allnic H-1201 and later settled on the H-1202. Both have tube gain stages plus iron nickel step up transformers for the MC section. Between the ver. 1 and the 2, the latter is slightly improved with a tube regulated power supply. Its slightly warmer than solid state, weighty sound and delicate highs. I really like it. My only gripe is that the supernatural imaging described in a few reviews seem hyped. I like it.

So I updated my phono stage to a McIntosh MP100 because I wanted a single phono stage for both turntables. I also like that it has an AKM ADC so that I can record my albums to digital if I want to. It sounds very good to my ears in my system!
