Dear audiosharks.

I attempted in my apartment with neighbors around to record a vinyl. Then I found that when the turntable has the needle on the LP but is not spinning, that there are many micro sounds that make it into the recording. e.g. if I step on my own floor you see some incoming low level sounds, but horribly if neighbors make any noise these make it also on the recording.

I would not worry directly, as vinyl is having quite some background noise by itself, however I believe strongly that garbage in = garbage out and as such you can better prevent recording noises from the outside world.

Any suggestions how to completely disconnect my turntable from the furniture that it now is standing on? The springs in the pucks under the turntable do at least not prevent anything.
I have seen some absorber plates but I'm not convinced. Are there other options?

Connecting to a wall is also no option where I live so I guess I will end up with an absorber plate. Any brand that has nice ones? Sofar the best I found online is ISOACOUSTICS DELOS 1815W1

Curious!
