Re: Linn LP12, How It’s Made

I respect all of Linn's products. I was taught a very important listening lesson by utilizing a Linn cd player. That said, it seems a bike hokey to adjust the platter speed by tightening or loosening the belt. If the motor speed is the same for each unit and the pulley diameters are the same, there shouldn't be an issue. I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

In the late 70’ s &80’s Having an LP12 was top tier, many compares to highly touted tables even today were seen off by an LP12 , with rare exceptions ..

Funny how what was bad back then is now good today , yes you Mr Idlers and Mr DD ..

bought my LP12 in 1997 and it was 10 years old at the time. still going strong, that being said there are not many original parts left on it. I don't think I could ever part with it we have too much history together. john

Re: Linn LP12, How It’s Made

I sold my LP-12 around 1997/8 along with all of my vinyl. Little did I know I would revisit vinyl ownership 15 years later.

Incidentally, my older brother owns my Father’s old LP-12 80s vintage. However, he has upgraded it through the years and it is current with Linn’s latest enhancements.

    Nice ...!

I still have all my fathers jazz LP’s from 60/70’s , playing Brubeck and or his favorite Ramsey Lewis Album put me back many decades and him in the room ..
