Don't forget that Mikey is also a salesman; he has managed to make Analog Corner a brand, although perhaps not on the scale of PSAudio

If you are a Mikey fanboy, you will love the video. MF does a great job explaining the warts all recording methods impose on the music.

My two cents: what Michael was saying makes total sense and I’m in full agreement. Just listen. And that reference to the WHO album, was my room at the Tampa Show - The Florida Audio Expo. It was incredible.

Yeah, I’m dead serious. When the history is written about how analog refused to die after the birth of CDs, MF played a key role in educating audiophiles on why analog sounds better and fought to keep LPs alive. MF has a good sense of humor, but calling him a kook because you don’t like his looks is pretty low.

I do like analogue, for the sound and old-fashionness of it.

So I’m with Mikey, I do greatly enjoy his writings and insights.

MF is undoubtedly a "kook" in the same sense that all of us here are "kooks". He's also very likable and in my brief experiences with him at shows surprisingly open-minded about digital vs. analog, being much more concerned with the original recording quality and mastering, as we all should be.

I was willing to give him the date error (he said 1999), but in '02 (when the Stones Abkco SACD's were released) the DSD layer was probably played on a Sony, Denon or Marantz player. I think Esoteric's first SACD player didn't arrive here until late 2003 or so.

Sounds a PS Audio Powerplant sales pitch to me.

Maybe Paul wants to clear his stock so, he can push the AQ Niagara :-) Just like they advertise AQ cabling for PS gear.

If you can't beat them (AQ + Shunyata) in power might as well join them.

Btw, I think there is an older Stereophile Youtube video where Fremer shows off his Niagara 7000.
