    Bryston phono card

    hi,
i experience harsh highs in my rig when playing LPs ... My set up being the technics 1200G with nagaoka MP500 Bryston Bp17 phono, MC275 and JBL4425... i suspect the phono card to be responsible for this harshness as the other components can hardly be suspected for it, and i don t have this when playing with the streamer through my Denafrips pontus2.
Does anyone here have had similar experience ?
in separate box with clean PSU reviews are rather positive (BP 1.5 for instance)...

You could try to demo a different phono amp.

But I do agree that the rest of your rig looks to be mellow sounding. You might prefer a tubed phono pre.

Have you double checked your turntable settings? Something may be amiss. Cart weight, alignment etc.

Also check the capacitance and resistance specs of your cart and make sure the phono preamp is set to those specs as close as possible. Some allow more adjustments than others.
