    I don't think the upgrade kit gets you a 100% G1X, only the electronics and the rear chassis plate are changed (G1X has five 10Mhz outputs compared to the G1's four). There were also changes made to the G1X chassis. I don't know how the numbers work...

    It's hardly ever a sideways move going from a good stereo amp to a good mono amp. If you own other Esoteric stuff it makes sense to continue with Esoteric to leverage the brand synergy.

    I think you're right. The UNO XD and UNO Fino XD (which I own) are probably perfect for the majority of domestic living spaces. The Duos, Duo Mezzos and the like need a large dedicated room to strut their stuff, IMHO.
