I have! Every so often I unplug the system for a while and play the Full Glide Tone which a full frequency track that’s 5 minutes long 2 or 3 times. It seems to refresh the system. Does it work? I believe so. 😎

I will have U1 mini hooked up to Lampizator tube DAC, which is hooked up to a tube pre amp. Is it ok to just turn on mini and the DAC? I am assuming that Lampizator tubes shouldn't get too hot during the break in.

The AVA amp is good, especially at it's price but I wouldn't expect it to be better than your VTL. I'm not familiar with your speakers. In my opinion you are going to have to spend a good sum of money to say, "yes, that's better than what I...

Hi Peter My U1 mini is arriving tomorrow. I heard that leaving it on 24/7 for 1-2 weeks breaks it in. Does the mini need to be hooked up to the rest of the system turned on to break it in? Or can I just have it turned on by itself for 1-2 weeks?

Yes and Yes. Leedh is a digital volume attenuation algorithm. At max volume there is no need to attenuate, and therefore no need to use any digital volume algorithm.

You would need to experiment to find out. Generally, FMC is expected to be put just before the Lumin. Note that the Lumin-side FMC needs to be used with a LPS.

My Class A Accuphase amp draws 158 watts at idle or at full power. I wouldn’t call that irresponsible. My electricity costs $.10 per kW, so even if I left it running 24 hours/day the daily cost is under $0.38.

Thank you for the input. Will listening at higher volume accelerate things? Or is it just a matter of time. Btw the most striking difference in the feel that things are not quite right is the perception of unbalanced frequencies / disharmonics.

Pass amplifiers are engineered to have a very euphonic sound. For Class 'D' amplifiers, the goal is an accurate sound. There is no reasonable way for a Class 'D' amplifier to have a Pass like euphonic sound.
