Oh my. I didn't know that there was a "connection" between the two companies and now, that I know that, I am not sure how that makes me feel but it is what it is and "caveat emptor" always applies. Always do your due diligence when it comes to...

Agreed, the same offer was made to me at around $1200 if I recall correctly. Keep in mind that the man behind Westminster is also involved in Lumin. So there certainly is some reciprocal benefit from “up-selling” to that cable. Im curious to hear...

Thanks for that. I did disassemble one of the connectors and can confirm what you said regarding the relative ease of shortening the end of the cable. Nothing extraordinary there. That being said, I did place an order with WestminsterLab and it...

Considering K-03XD has inherited quite a bit of technology from D1X ($50K) and P1X ($50K), $14K is a much sweeter price point than $100K.

The K-03XD has been running all week. It was “yo-yo’ing” a bit a couple of days ago, but has really settled down now and it’s sound signature is shining through. I’ve experimented more with the filters as well. The DSD has a softer, mellower...

I know that... it was a tongue in cheek post :). That is what I meant, similar attenuator designs (Arek's is rather famous) but "besides the gain stages and buffers" was meaning exactly what you said :D.

I also mark my volume knob in 3 spots with a pencil. It makes setting the volume between the two much easier. Pencil rubs off if you dont like the spot.

The only similarity is the stepped ladder attenuator. Outside that, totally different. Your Hattor is a strait wire with a resistor inline. The First Sound is an active unit that I think does some singnal boosting.
