    Accuphase e-5000

So, here it is. Translated from Japanese datasheet with Google.translate:

"The E-5000 is a high-power AB-class integrated developed by Accuphase to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its founding.
This is the flagship model of the amplifier. "Balanced AAVA" method volume control in the preamplifier section
Adopted, "Instrumentation amplifier" and "Power transistor, 5 parallel
The power amplification stage of "push-pull class AB operation" is carried and the perfect balance circuit is realized. Ideal circuit
E-5000 is an integrated amplifier that expresses all kinds of music with a strong sense.

Power amplification stages of "Spull AB class operation" are arranged on the left and right, rated output 240W / 8Ω,
    Achieves a powerful power of 320W / 4Ω."

High damping factor that brings out the potential of speakers.

The damping factor, which represents the ability of an amplifier to drive a speaker, is 1,000.
Achieve (guaranteed value) and bring out the potential of the speaker to the limit.

    Re: Accuphase e-5000

I'm considering this amp for my 804 D4's along with a whole host of others.

In Japan this amp cost $990K JPY = roughly $12.5K AUD but local pricing is roughly $22.5 - 25K AUD.

For the same money or less I could go for Michi monos, Parasound Jc5/Jc2BP, McIntosh MA9000, Pass Labs INT250, Boulder 866...

Does anyone know if a Classe Delta series Integrated is coming out?

I’ll try to get an idea this morning. Look at a Luxman 509x for now.

Cool thanks Mike, I've seen in the 802 D4 thread that you enjoy the Luxman 590 (I assume the latest 590 AXII) and 509X

The luxman 509X and 590AXII are so much cheaper at 13K and 11K AUD respectively, than all those amps listed above where they all are 20K and above

I'm assuming its the best synergy that you've tested so far Mike, this could work out well so I can get better source equipment with the spare change

The Classe integrated it delayed (just heard). The 590 would be amazing if you’re room isn’t super big. We have the AudiaFlight 10 integrated coming for evaluation. That could be good.

    Re: Accuphase e-5000

Any vague date on when it would be released, if you were to guess? Regardless I would probably be keen on waiting to see more info on it.

My room is 13 x 20ft with 9.3ft ceilings I would say its on the smaller side of a medium room. I listen at 75db, peaks reaching 80db, so a 590 would probably have enough power?

Haven't heard much review on this brand but the FLS10 was on my list, pretty beefy power supply section 2000VA transformer and 288K capacitance.

I would love to hear your thoughts on it paired with the 804's, keep me posted!

Yes. We should have them in a week or two. I heard from Jeff at Tone (who just finished reviewing them) that the 10 is killer.

I would say maybe late next year, but that’s just a guess.

Yes, you would be surprised by the 590. Remember, its rated at 30 watts/channel but measures closer to 95.

    Re: Accuphase e-5000

Listened to the e5000 for my B&W 804 D3. Ordered one immediately.

Listening was done with B&W 803 D4, fronted by a DCS Bartok

    Other options I listened to:

    - AVM Ovation 6.2 ME (clearly a lower league. Less transparent, smaller soundstage, less dynamics)
    - Gryphon Diablo 120 (good amp, but less organic and slightly shut in)
    - Gryphon Diablo 300 (great amp, super transparent, iron clad control and huge soundstage, but almost artificial and less organic)
    - Accuphase e800 (Wonderful machine, ultra organic and the best mid/high voicing, but less control lower down - B&W need high power. With different speakers would have chosen the e800)
-d’Agostino Progression (Amazing, Amazing. But sadly almost twice the price and out of my league currently)

The e5000 will replace my Marantz PM11S3 - a good upgrade I believe.

That's awesome! When is yours arriving?

I've ordered one for my 804 D4 back in January and is expected to arrive in May/June, it's been a fair wait and I'm dying to get mine.

    Re: Accuphase e-5000

    Hello,
So glad I found your posting. I too have the Marantz PM 11S3. I am using it to drive Martin Logan 13 ESL with a Pro-ject RPM 10 Carbon tt and Sumiko Blackbird HO going into the MM phono. I am very satisfied with this integrated particularly the phono stage but have had the itch for an upgrade; presently considering the Michi X-5 integrated. As with any upgrade there are gains in some areas and sometimes losses in others. YOU are the only person who has owned my piece so your perspective on what you gained with the e5000 would be very much appreciated! I am guessing you have not used their phono card? I love too that you auditioned the Diablo 300 and was not smitten. Would you be willing to share the price paid? I am in the US. In some countries the importer almost doubles the retail price. So 12 points off retail by a dealer would make a difference. Thank you in advance for your time and attention to this long post.
