"The Mephisto & Co. version of “Tam o’ Shanter” presented additional fullness and power in the lower registers of all instruments (especially in the bass region), while maintaining the rhythmic pacing of the performance."

Re: TAS: Acoustic Signature Tornado Neo Turntable with TA-2000 Neo Tonearm Equipment Report
Dre,
Thanks for your observations on the Tornado Neo/TA2000. Working with Norm and my dealer, I paired the Typhoon Neo with an Acoustical Systems Aquilar arm rather than the TA arm, and they're absolutely stellar together. They are both beautifully made, and the Aquilar is easy to set up with the provided tools. The combo sounds terrific in all respects. There seems to be a lot of headroom in the new Neo series, with price points to suit many budgets, though I suspect the Typhoon may be the sweet spot in the line.

Congrats on your AS Typhoon Neo and Aquilar arm, that should be an exceptional pairing. After hearing several of the AS Neo tables and reviewing their design features I came to the same conclusion as you, that the Typhoon is likely the best value offering in their lineup. It comes very close to their Montana's level of design implementation and performance for slightly more than half the price.
