I’m settling down listening to both of these on 45 - both worth owning, if you don’t already

it's my pleasure. Good to see someone reads some of my post about new music
I have been buying her stuff since her first album in 2014. she is truly a superb artist and an amazing dancer/ choreographer - that was her main job for a long time.

I just added the Jimmy Fallen video - amazing performance and might wake open up some more ears here.

Re: What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

a double shot of Lloyd Cole. Lloyd Cole - self tilted 1990 solo album after the split of the Commotions - sensational album - original euro pressing.
29 years later his latest 2019 album Guesswork - takes a little more time to get into this sparse cold electronic backed album - strong album.
Can't wait to see him and original commotion Neil Clark play live next month.

I love each of these albums, but Anne Bisson really gets me, her voice is as beautiful as her.

This is a 45 rpm reference quality album that will make you want to play it over and over - you can find it either on Qobuz, Tidal or both.

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin, Classic Records SD 8216

This is the first I really heard this album sound this good, and I’m at like 25 hours through burn in.

    What a great pressing/version!

and......there is a Classic Records 45rpm version too, which is even better......and a master tape version (i might have played for you and Mark).....which is even better than the 45.

    it's all about the media.

The 45 seems elusive right now, I’m pretty sure IV on 45 is what Fremer played for us at RMAF at PS Audio - and it had everyone on their head

Eva Cassidy solo with guitar... in 45.... the album is a little noisy, but what a voice, what a shame..

Nice, love anything Pink Floyd. The "Early Years" Compilation, "1972 Obfus/cation" includes the entire original "Live At Pompeii". I was excited about this since I had a video of this way before anyone was making music videos.

    Nice...

I have picked up some of my favorite Floyd albums that I only had on CD prior. Dark Side and Wish You Were Here I have in SACD so didn't pick those up ....

These remasters from original analog tapes are outstanding. Well worth grabbing for any Pink Floyd fan!

What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

The Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet

I did a little research on Discogs, and ended up with this period pressing.

Three turns on the Audio Desk Glass, quick carbon brush and a stylus dip in the Onzow, and down goes the needle onto the vinyl.

The jacket has seen better days, but the record is mint, no surface noises, scratches or the like.

Sympathy for the Devil outpaces the high res download and streaming versions I have.

I find period albums do better with Tone Controls set to on in my system, I must be trying to get back to my Dads Marantz / JBL system.

I will continue to build from period pieces, new 45 reissues where it is native to Analog from known engineers and plants.

What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

    Led Zeppelin III

I was after the Classic Records 180 gram version, and ordered it at premium off DisCogs or so I may of thought - the version received appears to be a 2014 release from ATLANTIC / WARNER , the version that comes with the Companion record -

Seller is telling me it’s a Classic Records production, with markings only to support reissue, and I believe Classic Records transferred to Acoustic around 2012?

Still sounds decent, will keep it despite outcome as I like to move the picture wheel, brings back memories

Re: What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

I would report him or at least give bad feedback. He can't think this is OK. I saw probably the exact same version new at Best Buy the other day.

Glad it is good sounding though. I have a high res download of all the Led Zep (except I think the last two). Great stuff!

Ok so I continue through my nostalgic different bands ... with 10cc! (listening to I'm Mandy Fly Me right now!)

Re: What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

Another new album (double album) that just arrived.

This lady amazes me. She does all vocals, plays almost all instruments, composes all songs, and has worked with a husband and wife team since day one. The husband is her producer and the wife is her lyricist. She refuses to ever tour, yet has sold almost 100 million albums! Oh, she has also sang/recorded in 10 languages...

    Simply wow...

What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland - Remastered from the original analog tapes by Bernie Grundman.

The album is done and presented well for this album and time period, a recommended buy.

Original Members of Jimi Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding create album # 3 with some great performances by invited guests like heard on Voodoo Child. Meanwhile, Jimi’s studio costs were skyrocketing so he bought a building and created a studio that was nearing completion of this album in Greenwich Village, NYC - the most expensive studio on the planet at that time, and paid for by endless work to see it happen by the highest paid rock musician of that brief period - he was about 25 during all this - a lot to take on for that age.

Re: What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

Led Zeppelin IV (Zoso) Classic Records pressing, 33 rpm

I always thought Zoso was pronounced as “Zofo” I guess picking this up in the late 70’s or early 80’s before there was internet What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

This is my second Zeppelin Classic Records pressing, and not embarrassed to play this on Audiophile friend visits, it sounds killer, including my not so favorite track Stairway to Heaven that makes you pick up the guitar and try to play along.

send this back to the seller and get your money back. Classic records never came with a companion disc - sounds like you have the digital master done by the deaf Jimmie Page. It is a pale imitation of how the 2000 Classic 180 gm pressing sounds.

Re: What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

ELO - From Out Of Nowhere. brand new 2019 album. Jeff is a musical legend, no doubt about that and 40 years later he is still writing some superb pop songs.
But, he needs help. Playing every instrument in his padded Bungalow studio is doing him no favours - the drumming on this album is worse than ever - bring back Bev Bevan or anyone who can drum and hold the beat. Jeff must also be deaf, as frankly this album is mastered for vinyl by none other than Chris Bellman from Grundman mastering and the sound quality is underwhelming and the worst in his entire career.
Jeff, reach out and get some muso's into your studio and have some fun playing and recording your songs with a masterful engineer and get back to working your wonderful musical arrangements. the results for this album could have been stunning as the songs are excellent.
That said I do like the album but it could have been sooooo much better.

The seller asked if I could call him, I did and helped him understand why it was not a Classic Record pressing.

I agreed to keep the album (did not want to go to the steps of mailing and I like the wheel) and he refunded me while on the phone - my takeaway was he just didn’t know, an honest mistake. I’m a streetwise city kid, so I know the hustle and this was not one.

So back to scoring a Zep III as they do sound really good!

What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

Jimi Hendrix - Band of Gypsies, Songs for Groovy Children, Live at the Fillmore East

I originally said I had no interest as the original Band of Gypsies album is already great, although but at the store today, I was helpless, and I’m a self biggest Hendrix fan on the planet!

New release, unedited from original master tapes for all Fillmore Easy shows bringing in 1970 finally brought with no breaks in the set, It’s a numbered set, I got 2657. There are 8 albums - a lot to clean What Vinyl Do You Have On The Table?

I am simply blown away on album 1, first show on 12/31/69 - I mean its incredible - well worth it if your a Hendrix fan!
