An ATM-2 and a pair of LV's would work best for me. Just kidding Mike and congrats for helping Mark get up and running again.

Congrats! Stunnig setup, I'm sure it sounds awesome.

Which phonoamp are you using with it?

Very nice table Mark and a fine phonostage too. I just purchased a Chinook SE to use with my VPI Aries 3 and Ortofon Cadenza Black. After realigning the cartridge using the Feickert NG gauge and Fozgometer my sonics have exploded. The unipivot 3D arm was too difficult to get azimuth to my liking so I got the Foz, and the Feikert, too, over the Holidays.

As good as mine sounds, I bet with the right tools it could sound better! I'm envious.

As of right now, after buying Mike's Cadenza Bronze, I'm loving everything about my Avenger! Its truly an amazing TT

Re: My VPI Avenger Is In The House!

Kev, buying the Avenger is one of the best purchases I've ever made in my audio journey. I simply cannot find fault with anything I'm hearing.

The Ortofon Cadenza Bronze has a meaty, full sound. Yet still gives me all the detail I need, in a nice, airy, natural and sweet way.

But I suspect a TT of this quality would benefit greatly with a top tier cartridge, and sometime in the future I will get one.

After this purchase I'm broke...................but VERY happy!! If you get a chance to hear the Avenger, you'll understand my enthusiasm.

    Smart question!

Actually when I got the TT home the platter was not this shiny. I bought some Mothers Wheel Polish and a cloth, then went about polishing the platter by hand.

It will show fingerprints very easy, so I'm very careful to not touch the side of the platter when placing the record on it, or taking it off

Other than that, it stays pretty clean. I plan on a little touch up every once in a while. Overall I'm glad I gave it a shine!!

The waxes and wheel polish products work great on the TT platters for a great shine but I noticed the dust and static build up was 2 or 3 times faster....I started using this stuff http://www.brillianize.com/ and works excellent on any shiny or hard surface, even though its primarily for acrylics and such it works great on hard metal surfaces......its quick, easy to use, anti-static formula and the dust build up is much less over a period of time.

That stuff is something else, we use it on the bright metal on our cars, never thought about it for the VPI platter.
