    wood cases or not

    So give your opinion. I have a vintage set up that I love and I am proud of.
    MC300 amp
    C29 preamp
    MR78

    The c29 is in a wood case. The MR78 does not and the mc300 is definately bare. So I was thinking of getting a case for the mr78 or losing the case on the c29. I know less heat without and longer component life. I want the entire setup to display well also. Tell me what you do with your stuff

    I have a case on my Mac 1700 for 40 years and no problems.
    I like the look of the wood case if it can be seen in your system.

    Bill,

    I am a little nostalgic for the wood cases and like the way they look.

    Wood is good...
    Not in the same league as MC gear... but I've rebuilt a couple 2270s over the years and I like the way they look in wood!

    If using custom built cases as I did, obviously important to be aware of ventilation.

    Trying to find these cases for Hypex D-400 mono blocks, Leviathan does not want to help TO BAD.

    Leviathan Red Dragon Mono amplifier in Zebra wood.jpg - - - Leviathan Red Dragon Mono amplifier.jpg - - -
    André - - - Keep it simple system
    Amp = Chord CPM-2600
    Source = Chord One
    Speakers = Acoustat 1+1s highly modified

    Re: wood cases or not

    It's a $55,000 (Canadian dollars) stereo amp. ... Tenor Audio 175S

    * There is also the Tenor Audio 350M monoblock amp (very very expensive and heavy and with beautiful wood on front and on top).
    And there is the Tenor Line 1/Power 1 as well (beautiful wood all around this time, and very expensive). ...Goggle!

    ...Kind of stuff made of what dreams are made of. ...For audiophiles with comfortable bank accounts.

    I was still a punk kid in high school when I used to troll the stereo store drooling over Marantz amps like the ones shown. Very cool.
