    Mike,
Siltech is the real deal! I own the humble 330i classic anniversary interconnect, which performs superbly enough. I can only imagine how much you gain when you climb up to the mega buck range.

Thanks Anshul. I'm loving what I'm hearing. Oh no....full loom coming? I'm afraid to ask, how good are the IC's? Has anyone tried the PC's?

    Re: Siltech Royal Signature Series

Yes, I use Siltech Royal Signature Ruby Mountain II G7 on my MC2301s into Hydra Cyclops. I have tried other power connects and have performed side-by-side comparisons against Furutech PowerFlux and Shunyata Zitron Anaconda.

These easily best anything I have tried in my system.

Their biggest advantage is that they emit absolutely zero EM emissions. I have proven it with EM testing equipment. It has to do with the Kapton they use. We are talking about material application methodologies used by the aerospace industry.

I am a strong proponent of cable shielding especially when it comes to power connects. If you have tube amps, you should not be using unshielded cables IMO.

I recommend the Furutech Flux connector termination option. They also compliment the addition of Furutech Flux-50 inline power filters which only enhance their performance even further.

If I could, I would have an entire Siltech Royal Signature loom, but it's a very tall order.

Mark... I showed my spouse the Odin 2 thread. She said NFW, don't even think about it!

It would be a good challenge to compare Siltech's flagship Triple Crown to the upcoming Odin 2 line. My money would be on the Siltech.

    Re: Siltech Royal Signature Series

I got a friend who has a complete Siltech Double Crown loom - speaker cables, phono cable, 2 pairs of balanced ICs and 5 or 6 PCs.

In my experience, those are the very best cables money can buy. I have heard many top of the line cables, but nothing to my ears can touch those Siltechs.

They are the smoothest cables I've heard - zero added hardness or sibilance. Resolution is spooky - you can hear subtle details you didn't know were there. It is like putting Stax Omega 009 headphones on. But best of all - there is zero, nil, nada of brightness or thinness to the sound that is so common is silver cables. The texture and tone color are just exemplary.

I really wish I could afford those ! If there are cables that are really worth the mega buck price - then Siltech must be one of the VERY few.

Mike, nice choice with the Siltech Royal Sig series sc's! Which model did you buy? They were the only other cables I considered before deciding on my Jorma Prime & Statement cables. I really love the Siltech cables which have exemplary build quality, rich tonal color, good bass & are very quiet. I just felt in my price range, Jorma offered a bit better sound for the money. But as Adam eluded to, if you have the coin, Siltech can sell you cables which, with the possible exception of TL Grandmaster Evo cables, are the best money can buy .

Mike I think you've made a great choice. The sound characteristics of the Prince sc's should be an excellent match with your Strads & Pass amps. I heard those cables demonstrated with Vitus Sig series gear and a pair of Magico Q1's & was gobsmacked by the warm, mellifluous sound. The synergy was excellent. In fact I very nearly went for the Royal Sigs myself! Ultimately though it all comes down to finding the best sounding cables to suit your system & budget. Happy days ahead!

Thanks David. I put them on the Focal/Devialet system and was immediately struck by how smooth they were, yet giving up nothing.

I plan on trying a few Siltech cables upstairs. I'm so impressed, I would say an entire loom is possible now.

Mike, too funny In January you were of a mind that you would never swim in these waters of pricing but I see the fever has it's hold. The next best thing is so overpowering when it is so prevalently demonstrated in ones system just by changing one set of cables. Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated, & with what it has to offer, why the hell not!! Bring on the Borg!

    Re: Siltech Royal Signature Series

Do you have the blue plastic sheath on? If so, try removing them for a touch of added purity.
I previously ran the Double Crown PC"s and found the plastic wrap to lend a discernable unnatural tone . Checking with Siltech confirmed this. They are primarily used to safeguard the metal canisters from nicks during transportation.

    Happy Listening.

    Re: Siltech Royal Signature Series

    @ Mike
I searched the Internet for some insights about Tara Labs Omega Gold speaker cables and found your interesting review here on audioshark. Then I saw in your system listing that you use the Siltech Prince instead of the Omega Gold. Apparently you like the Prince more than the Omega Gold. What is it what the Siltechs do better for you vs the Tara Labs?
The background is, I have the Siltech Emperor II in use and think of a change to the Omega Gold. I haven't heard the Omega yet (and there is no chance for me to try it besides of buying them) and I'm not sure if I should go this way. But I thought it could be a better match to my Zero Gold and Zero Onyx interconnects.
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

What is it what the Siltechs do better for you vs the Tara Labs?
The background is, I have the Siltech Emperor II in use and think of a change to the Omega Gold. I haven't heard the Omega yet (and there is no chance for me to try it besides of buying them) and I'm not sure if I should go this way. But I thought it could be a better match to my Zero Gold and Zero Onyx interconnects.
    Thanks in advance
    Michael
I think with any cable, it comes down to synergy. The Omega Gold's give a nice boost to the lower mids. Siltech Prince gives a super smooth presentation on top (but without losing detail) and has this "ease" about it.

That being said, I spent 4 1/2 hours with Steven Hill, the owner of Straight Wire cables yesterday. We compared a variety of cables in both my systems, including a variety of Straight Wire cables and my Kimber and Siltech cables as well. It didn't take more than a few seconds to hear the different sonic characteristics of each cable. The Siltech was the cable you could listen to all day long and oh so musical and sweet. The Straight Wire - Expressivo Grande - for the money - was very good. The Kimber held its head as the neutrality champ.

Can you tell us a little bit more about your system, room, listening habits, how loud you listen, etc.?

    @Mike:
Thanks for your fast response and your findings in your system.
Ok, something about me and my system:
Source is EMM Labs TSD1 / DAC2 on a Symposium Isis rack with two Rollerblock modules and Ultra shelves. At the moment both are coupled to the shelves with Symposium Precision Couplers, the DAC2 sits on an additional Ultra platform (which has a surprising impact on deeper soundstage). Transport and DAC are connected with the included fibre optic cable. The DAC is connected with Tara Labs Zero Onyx XLR to my ARC Ref3, which sits on Finite Elemente Cerapucs on a SRA Scuttle rack. From there it goes with a Tara Labs Zero Gold XLR to my Soulution 710 amp, which sits directly on the Scuttle shelf. The amp is connected to a pair of Magnepan 3.7 (with modified speaker terminal (not finished yet), the original connections were a mess, the Maggies opened up a lot after the modification) with the before mentioned Siltech Emperor II. The Maggies sit on Stillpoints Ultra SS.
Power cables are Stealth Dream V10 and V12 and are connected to a PS Audio P10 except for the amp. In addition I have a Kuzma Stabi Ref with Stogi Ref and a VDH MC system (forgot the model), connected to a battery driven Audio Physic phono amp (also forgot the model name, it's discontinued for years). From there it goes to the Ref3 with an older G6 Siltech Signature Forbes Lake RCA.

The room is about 16x18 feet, 11,5 feet high, brick walls and oak parquet. Listening level is mostly moderat because of neighbours and family .
Music is mostly Indie Folk/Pop, Electronic and Trip Hop and some Classical music.

    Re: Siltech Royal Signature Series

Mike congrats on the Siltech Prince cables. As one who has started switching over to Siltech it's nice to read about the immediate differences. My 1st Siltech was a 1m Golden Ridge II with Furutech's carbon/Rhodium XLR's and just a few weeks ago I added my 1st 2.5m Ruby Hill II also with Furutech carbon/Rhodium IEC and AC. As for speakers cables I'll go for either the Prince or perhaps swing for the King but that's a substantial jump in price over the Prince. I plan on going with Princess for my interconnects. I need like a 4m or 5m run for my interconnects so bloody hell it's pricey for that length.

Looking at your signature you have a lot of Kimber models. What models do you have? I've had Kimber cables since 2004, not the Select's but their standard stuff, balanced PBJ's, Tonic's, HD19's and a PK10 Gold. It was actually a home demo years ago of their Monacle XL's that opened my eyes or I guess it's ears at how much difference cables can make. I currently use Ixos 6003 speakers cables which I've had since 2002, I never did get around to getting the Monacles.

Something I've always been curious about, how close in thickness is the Prince to whatever your Kimber Select's are? Which is thickest?

Thank you Rod. They are marvelous. I have the 6063 Kimber Select's. To answer your question, the Kimber Select 6063's are a tiny bit thicker than the Siltech Royal Signature Prince.

An idea popped into my head today about a possible option on the Siltech speaker cables. Now I've never seen evidence that it is possible but I was curious if it's possible to have the termination leads on the speaker cables covered in the black mesh that is offered as an option on the jumpers?

Full Siltech loom from head to toe. Power cables too. Went Classic 700 Series for IC's, went with Royal Sig for the source IC's (DAC, turntable, etc). Already had the Royal Sig speaker cables.

    I'm in heaven!

The Royal Sig phono cable was a huge "WOW".

Ah so all 700 series for the Classics, nice. Which Royals did you settle on, intro series like the Prince speaker cables, so Princess, Golden Ridge II, Avondale II or did you step a level or 2 for these?

It'll be interesting to get your impressions of comparisons between the Siltech power cables and your Kimber Palladians. Which power cables, the SPX-800?

I went with Royal Signature Prince speaker, phono, AES/EBU. The rest are Classic Series 700 and SPX-800 power. I'm delighted with the results. The system is so much smoother and musical with a beautiful "flow" and no edge or bite whatsoever, but without giving up any detail.

Thanks! The phono is really impressive. I held off upgrading my Furutech phono until I could find the "right" one. The Siltech was definitely worth the wait.

Hi Mike. I was reading these postings, and there great. Congratulation on your great Siltech cables. These cables are great. I also own Siltech cables. I have a pair of 2.5m Siltech Royal Signature spade to spade speaker cables, Siltech Royal Signature Ruby Mountain II power cable, Siltech Royal Signature Ruby Mountain II power cable, and Siltech Royal Signature Princess interconnect. I also use PS Audio P10 Power Regenerator. The soundstage, depth, black background, detail, nuances, are all incredible. I really like this forum. Long live Siltech. Take care. Ron

Siltech has the best, no contest.

A 2m XLR Royal Signature pair for my MC2301s is still on my dream list.

Hi Steve. My Siltech Royal Sig Princess are XLR to XLR. These were the first Siltech cables I bought, and then went from there. These cables will last a lifetime, and resale value is high. Good luck.
