    Marantz SR7005 acting up

My Marantz SR7005 AV Receiver is giving me grief. Every once in a while but seems to be happening more often now, it will show a black screen with no video at all. Sometimes it just flickers in and out. Sometimes it is
out completely like it did yesterday. Turned it on today and all is fine. One day it lost both video and audio. It is definitely the receiver, if I bypass it with all sources directly to tv then all is well.
I bought it thru my friend that does custom AV whole home installations. He thinks it may be the video card.
    Has anyone experienced this issue?

It might be a bad HDMI cable. Try swapping it out and see if it keeps happening...

Thought about that and it would be hard to swap out since tv is built into wall. But as I said when I run HDMI cable directly from cable box or blue ray (by passing the receiver) to tv all is good. And it has even lost the audio on occasion. If it was the HDMI cable from receiver to tv, audio would not be affected.

I had that happen to my Denon 4311, bad HDMI cable either at the cable box or TV or receiver. Mine was between the Denon and the cable box.

My first suspect would be the HDMI cable (s). Check all of them. Marantz and Denon (same company) are not known for having bad HDMI boards like Onkyo is. So I would at least suspect that last.
