It cleans ok, but even new pressings need sometimes 2 runs to be cleaned.

I have the AudioDesk, KL Audio and ClearAudio Double Matrix. The Double Matrix spanks them (as David told us years ago). I now own two Double Matrix machines - one in the store and one at home. Wouldn’t have anything else. I keep telling Fremer he needs to get one, but he hasn’t tried it yet.

I had this Civil Wars unplugged album. I ran it through the AudioDesk, probably 10 times. Then the KL Audio 10 times. Still noisy as hell. One time on the ClearAudio Double Matrix and voila - dead silent!

In the spirit of full disclosure, BruceLet has a Double Matrix and has had some issues with it. Not sure if his machine was a early build or what, but he did get a replacement machine and it’s been perfect ever since. My two have NEVER given a lick of trouble and always clean like a bandit!

    Thanks Mike!

Clearaudio will be on the list even if I have a working machine at the moment my issue is that some records refuse to be cleaned despite repeated actions.

    Re: Ultrasonic Record Cleaners ???

My AD (an early one before the PRO) lasted about 8000 record cleanings (probably averaged a double cycle per cleaning) before it died. I told me dealer what happened (after about 4-5 years of very heavy use). He called the US distributor and they sold me a brand new machine as a replacement for $1500. So I am on my second machine and have cleaned another 2500 records (mostly one cycle per cleaning). If they hadn't sold me a second machine for the $1500, I might have tried another machine. My dealer lent me his machine until I received my replacement. So far I have cleaned over 10,000 records with the AD (again not the PRO which hadn't come out even before the replacement). I'm quite sure I got the replacement cheap because of my dealer.

    Re: Ultrasonic Record Cleaners ???

I bought a factory refurbed AD at a very good price recently. I sent it to a friend of mine who has got Loricraft P6a and the Degritter for a compare. He said the most soiled need the Loriicraft, but other than that, both AD and Degritter clean better and equal, with the latter having more WAF

I've had my CA Double Matrix Pro Sonic for close to a year, and absolutely love it. Worth the cost. So simple and efficient to use, and easy to maintain. Definitely helps the noise floor and clarity of records. Plus, it's so damn cool showing it off to guests as it works.

KL Audio ... I know its cliche, but you will rediscover your album collection & distilled water is cheap.
