Anybody get to compare these two cutting edge designs?

I've heard both, but never compared them in the same room.

Have you narrowed down your choice to either of these two?

I already own the Q3 but the Blades is piquing my interest...well as does Raidho, Rockport, etc, you know the game!

    KEF Blade vs Magico Q3

I would take your Q3's over the KEF's. But if you have the speaker itch, I would audition the Raidho D3's (the new & improved version), Wilson Alexia's, Sasha 2's and yes, even the Sonus Faber Stradivari's. Do you have a budget in mind? Those four would be my top picks today....unless you're talking north of $100k.

Of course...you also have YG and Vivid and numerous others.

Based on initial feedback, it sounds like the new & improved Raidho D3 is going to be tough to beat.

I haven't heard these but have seen them referred to as more similar than not to the Magico, they have my attention......

I would also take the Q3s over the KEF, but I haven't heard the KEF in my room, only at (multiple) shows. Never impressed.

As for the YG, that's another good suggestion. I've just heard their new Hailey (after hearing them first at CES), and it was fantastic. YG really nailed down the aesthetics with this new line, very minimalistic, and the sound remains uncoloured, neutral, with the tight sealed box bass, now all passive.

I hate the Blades too. Failed my resolution test at a show, whereas the LS-50 pass with flying colours.

Cant blame the electionics either, as the Blades were run with full Soulution gear.

What really impressed me was the Franco Serblin Ktema setup (Einstein electronics)...a surprise really.
I like YG and Proclaim speakers too.

Sorry little late to the thread..........

Although its in another price category, the WB Cardinal is absolutely top notch, IMHO as good or better than any of the more well known alternatives. It doesn't do low bass but everything else is REALLY good. The price is an issue though, if it were cheaper, EVERYONE would know about this speaker

Yes, people need to hear the K'temas at $30K approx. Franco was the original designer of Sonus Faber...

Re: KEF Blade vs Magico Q3

I have never heard them either. I have read some really good things about the Blade 2.... but it appears to be a love / hate thing. It also sounds like they are very dependent on the room and the setup.

On the other hand I have heard nothing but rave about the Reference 5s... Maybe worth looking into....

I do not have the room in our home with it's current configuration to put anything large in it. I might have to work with our contractor at some point and put together something.... As it is now I am limited to the LS50 with the McIntosh compact system in my office. It sounds spectacular for what it is... but.... ....

Well I moved the system out of my office and up into the library... So at least I have the system out of my office and into a much nicer area... So at least the space is starting to open up a little. Who knows, maybe get wife around to seeing that nice larger speakers might be in order at some point
