Thread: F112 vs F113

    F112 vs F113

Two 212's will actually allow for less volume on each sub which will lower distortion and result in cleaner, tighter more accurate bass. Just my opinion and experience.

Either in a 2.0,2.1 or 2.2 setup. I'm running it in 2.2. So far, the results are excellent...as in 73-78hz bass problem in my room - SOLVED! I'm moving some stuff around and recalibrating. Will report back later.

    Re: F112 vs F113

Quick update on the DSPeaker 2.0 Dual Core.

I found that it produced the best results when I calibrated for the mains only, then add the subs in at a very low volume to blend (with no calibration) later.

I think the ideal solution would be JL Audio Fanthom series subs with their built in DSP/room correction. Get the subs dialed into the room using the built in JL Audio tools, then dial in the main speakers separately. Combine the two and listen!

For just mains, the dual core works as promised without taking anything away. When I had the subs split off and included them in the analysis and configuration, the resulting room EQ was not as affective probably due to timing and the addition of four subs into the mix (each of my subs is a dual sub configuration). It was only 50% better under this setup. When I did just the mains and then afterwards added the subs at a barely audible level, it was 100% better.

This little device works as promised. It focuses just on bass issues (approx. 150hz down, although it can be configured to run up to 500hz down if you have problems in the 200-300 region for example).

I obviously still want to live with the Dual Core for a few more weeks before drawing any final conclusions, but I can say that tiding up mid bass humps does so much for the music. Everything is cleaner, clearer, and vocals are smooth and more forward.
