Lumin U1 : really blown and not working
Hello
I have been using my lumin u1 for a year. Yesterday , I did the software upgrade to 10.3b
Then the lumin worked
Atferwards , the unit switched off and the PSU was quite hot
I unplugged everything , and switched on again
Music played for 90 to 120 seconds , and again the unit switched off by itself
Who is the culprit ?
The PSU or the Ugrade ?
What to do now ?
Cheers

Re: Lumin U1 : really blown and not working
Please send email to info@luminmusic.com
I'm on vacation now and our team will be able to better followup this case.
Assuming the firmware upgrade does the upgrade normally, I've tested the new firmware is stable. Two beta testers have also been using it for a month before it got a public release.

Re: Lumin U1 : really blown and not working
I also just played my system for a good hour and a half and cranked it. The U1 power supply was cool. I don't use the volume control in the U1

Re: Lumin U1 : really blown and not working
I feel for you. That's one of the reasons I generally don't sell as much and just rotate stuff to a secondary system. In the past many moons ago, I've had amps in for repair and what I had as a spare amp wouldn't drive my main speakers to reasonable levels so I was left with background music capability only.Main System - Lumin U2, Modwright LS36.5 DM Preamp, VTV Purifi 1ET-7040SA with tube buffer, EMM Labs DAC 2X (ver. 2), Torus RM-20, Thiel CS 3.7s, 2 Rel S/812 subs

Re: Lumin U1 : really blown and not working
Hello
After some days , Lumin asked me to test the PSU , with voltage on the PINS
I'll do so tomorrow
BUT , I have no idea which pin is number 1 -- and which one is NUMBER 8
Well , I hope that I'll find a way to get it repaired or exchanged

Re: Lumin U1 : really blown and not working
Hello
I did that search , and simply forgot to see the images ..
Tomorrow upon returning home , I'll chevk that
Lumin is not so well distributed in France , and I bought the unit in HK
So i think that the local distributor will not take the guarantee
The other route is to send the PSU to HK , but I'm waiting for a reply from Lumin
Then , I can try to buy a PSU from Kenneth LAU , but .. expensive
So right now , It's huge frustration , and impatience
Many many thanks for your help
I hope to get news from Lumin soon
Cheers

Re: Lumin U1 : really blown and not working
Hello
Some updates regarding the problem
1. Wklie has been very kind and helpful
2. The PSU is not working , and I'll send the unit , which is still in guarantee
I have been wondering about
1. Kenneth Lau PSU as replacement
2. The new Lumin PSU
IS this new PSU compatible with the U1 ?
Cheers
