    Power Upgrades

Here’s what I’m doing for the Sound of Music, just a matter of making a few hours next week to pull some gear, reroute cabling, reconfigure my power distribution and do a little spring clean up.

I’m pulling the PS Audio P10, and inserting a Nordost QRT QBase Mark II, providing a straight-line AC distribution path, combined with star-earthed topology mated to my QKore 6 creating a system wide parallel grounding device.

For soundstage and dynamics, the QX4 power purifier will be fed with a Valhalla 2 power cable from the wall and gonna try my new Ansuz Ceramic between the QBase 8 outlet distributor and QX4, and plug in 2 each Harmonizers and Enhancers.

What I noticed tonight on the P10 incoming THD is about double from normal. I do like having this and other information viewable. The P10 is a great unit, and may end up as a second unit, but most likely will sell, somewhere around $2500.00

Plan X - If sound is not better across the board, I’ll revert back to the P10 and start building a second system with QBase.

As most will agree, a good amount of doing stuff like this really depends lots on the variables between the room itself, speakers, components and power for percentage gain. This change is relatively low cost and completes my system, and believe will yield more openness in every sense.

Will post in a couple of weeks with findings and pictures, until then...
