Clearday Speaker Cables
Anyone heard of these ? Am using them now. Paul the owner is the nicest guy possible. Not looking to boost his sales as I have nothing to do with his company. Just mentioning a good thing.

Re: Clearday Speaker Cables
since you asked: My speakers were designed over 35 years ago. While they were in line with the “accepted” frequency response of their day, I noticed a leaner frequency response prevailing with newer transducers. When I returned from audio shows and audio club meetings I noticed speaker designers aiming for a leaner, less midrangy FR. As much as I loved my speaker system, it was becoming more and more evident they were sounding “old school”. Like a true audiophile I tried every tweak possible to “modernize” my sound. As you can imagine, years later and thousands of $ later I was able to accomplish my goal. With the help of Paul Laudatti (spelling guessed at) of Clearday, I was able to find the right combination of speaker cable to lock in the sound I was seeking. And it was done on a shoe string. In conclusion, I was able to realize an improvement without having to give up what I enjoy about my speakers.

Re: Clearday Speaker Cables
Joe, a recent tone control or EQ would be a more effective path to modernize your system.

Re: Clearday Speaker Cables
Dear Speedskater: Your entitled to your opinion. I had a feeling someone was going to pull the “using cables as tone control” ploy on me. Sorry if I don’t live up to accepted audiophile standards. I still like the Clearday cables regardless. Just offering a tip to others. Sharing experiences. No obligation. No benefit to me. Your mileage may vary.

Re: Clearday Speaker Cables
Joe, please read your post #4 again. It's a job for tone controls/EQ.

Also it would be good to start reading Floyd Toole's new book "Sound Reproduction" 'Third Edition'.
It's a big book with 490 pages, it will take me many months to finish my copy.Last edited by Speedskater; March 17, 2018 at 05:06 PM. Reason: added content

Re: Clearday Speaker Cables
Hi Joe,
I used Paul's double shotguns for a long time. They are very good speaker cables and considering the price, are a great value.
Paul is one of the nicest guys in this hobby.

Re: Clearday Speaker Cables
Just heard. Paul Laudati, owner of Clearday Cables passed away last week. He was 60 years old. One of the nicest guys in this industry. He would ship you cables at no charge, just for you to audition. If you liked them, you could pay for them. Otherwise you could simply return them. I happen to know there were some who did neither. But being the prince Paul was, he never gave up on the audiophile community. Never changed his policy. He was as excited to send them to you as his customers were to receive them. Rest in peace, Paul. My friend. I will miss our long winded conversations, and your positive outlook.
