Thank you so much Scott. I really appreciate it. Dan D'Agostino really knows what he's doing. I love these amps. I need to take my time with the preamp but I understand the synergy. I was there in the early days. I need to make sure it's the right one. Again.

As for preamps, I had an ARC Ref6 at first and it sounded great, but when I dropped in the D'Ag pre.....game over. The synergy is mind boggling. But for me, I feel the best product in the momentum line is the phono stage. Words can't explain how good it is.

Enjoy your new amps in good health, as I'm sure you will. I've heard nothing better. The finesse and control they offer from top to bottom is just AWESOME!

    Best,

I would love SF Il Cremonese or M3. I don't think I can make either of them happen. I love the recommendations though

ps These M400s can make ANY speaker sound awesome

Re: D’Agostino M400 monos are absolutely wonderful ...

Absolutely. I'm up way too late every every night. I knew all amps (and preamps for that matter) sound different. Some better, some worse. But I never expected these M400s to be so profoundly better than anything that I've heard or had. My acceptable window of gear is pretty big but these have far exceeded my expectations. I am sorry to gush (again and again) but I'm very happy.

It's funny, Jock was trying to talk me into the Diablo 300 because he loves it soooo much. He has nothing but high praise for that unit. He wanted me to save my money. What a sweetheart

Either way, I would have been a winner.

    Joe,

I thought long and hard before buying the Ref 10. When I first received it I had still had the Theta Prometheus monoblocks that were sold and replaced by a pair of borrowed Momentum M300 monoblocks. They had to be returned to the store for demos, so I borrowed a pair of ARC Ref 250SE monoblocks. I understand what is meant by synergy as those two worked very well together. I just can't see replacing so many tubes. Now finally the Progressions are permanently in the system and loving every minute of it. The Ref 10 with the Progression amps gives you an unbelievable three dimensional soundstage with layering front to back. Vocals have presence and air around them on well miked recordings. The overall presentation is smooth from top to bottom with just a hint of tube like playback but with more slam as both the ARC Ref 10 and Progressions are known for bass reproduction. I myself love it as I feel it gives you the best of both worlds. I am very pleased. If you do hear the Ref 10 in your system you won't send it back I can pretty much guarantee that happening.

Well Joe I am blaming you and Mike (Ritmo) for deciding to move up from the original Momentums to the M400's. My Momentums are currently the oldest piece of gear in my set-up. I am going to try the black ones this time around.

Thank you very much for your reply. Your response is exactly what I was thinking about what the combo would be like. I am still recovering from the amp purchase but I’m hoping for a summer purchase. The Ref 10 is high on my list.

I’m so happy for you. What a great system you have assembled.

Joe, you might just consider a MSB dac running direct to amp.

Two upgrades with one stone (and very significant at that). There are a few Dag owners doing this.

That's been crossing my mind as well. Mike is absolutely in love with his MSB dac (which is absolutely out of the question for me). But they do have more "reasonably" priced ones I need to look at and hear.

Nice! I never honestly thought these amps could actually be in my system. Huge upgrade for me for sure.

I bet Dan sells all that are made. I just read that they are expected to sell between 250-275K. The Asian market will have the cash for them. I want to see who plays them on the WAMM speakers first.

I wanted to buy a pair of those so bad! Not happening after buying the Ref 10 and Progression monos the same year. You and Jim are very fortunate.
