Re: Bryston and StormAudio Corroboration
James - what made you include room correction? I recall reading a few articles before I bought my SP3 that mentioned Bryston’s choice not to use room correction because it provided the purest signal.

Re: Bryston and StormAudio Corroboration
HI,
It was not my choice and I have partners and got outvoted.
What I have come to realize is that its not about what I think is best its about what the dealers, distributors and customers want. By not having room correction as an option most retailers and especially Custom Installers boycotted the SP3.
I am still opposed to room correction as I know how much it screws up the Sound Power of the loudspeaker but it seems like I am alone in the wilderness on this one.

Re: Bryston and StormAudio Corroboration
I use my room 70% of the time for 2 channel, but wanted something that allowed me to also use it for home theater. The SP3 without all the room correction non-sense was the perfect choice. I gave up the Anthem and came this direction and haven't looked back. Looks like you're not the only one standing alone in the room without room correction

Re: Bryston and StormAudio Corroboration
I use Anthem AVM60 for my HT and not once engaged Anthem’s popular ARC room correction. SP3 and now SP4 are out of my price range.

Bryston and StormAudio Corroboration
I used to own the Anthem D2. Then I moved to the SP3. Even without room correction, I liked the sound of the SP3 better. The SP3 is a newer processor than the D2 and it has better DACs and analog bypass capability.
But... the SP3 is already 7 plus years old. That is ancient for digital equipment. In my opinion, without the latest codecs and without room correction, the SP3 cannot compete with the SOTA units of today (like Trinnov) and that is likely why installers may have shunned the unit.
Technology is always evolving and even with the new board, the SP3 is still 7 years old technology.
You can get a used SP3 for great prices and at current (used) prices I feel that the SP3 is a fantastic sounding unit.

James -
Will there be a easy way to bypass all the processing and room correction for 2 channel? Like the bypass feature on the SP3?
