Sigma speaker cable review
First impressions.
I just upgraded my speaker cable to Shunyata Sigma from the Zitron Anaconda, and this added a much more precise edge to the music. That is, the instruments, and voices, are now really striking in where they are in the air. If I could draw on air I think I could outline each note. This can’t be right. Something must be broken. LOL
The bass is certainly more pronounced and defined, and the mids or highs are just clearer, more distinct, and solid in their location in the air.
I can’t swear to this, but I think I am hearing more at a lower volume setting than before.
While Shunyata says they now use a technology to achieve break-in, I think they are sounding better tonight (Saturday) versus last night. They arrived Thursday morning, and have played nonstop since noon Thursday.
I admit that I was a bit hesitant to upgrade since the system sounded so good as it was, and I just upgraded my pre from a Pass XP-20 to the XP-22. However, I feel a lot better now, and just need a few more beers to convince myself to order three pair of Sigma XLR ICs.Bud

Sony XA-5400ES SACD
Pass XP-22 pre, X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers, SPOD spikes

Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

Sigma speaker cable review
Bud, this is a very nice write up. Thank you. I find the Sigma cables to be incredibly liquid sounding, with a touch of sweetness and wonderfully musical. The backgrounds are black, black, black. I’m not exactly sure what the circuit board in the Sigma speaker cable is doing exactly, but it’s doing something good!
I believe the circuit is related to HARP.
From Shunyata website:
HARP was discovered through Gabriel’s research into ‘current drift’ and audio frequency current resonances that occur in speaker cables. Theoretically, a speaker cable may develop current resonances in the audio band, being roughly analogous to standing waves (modals) in room acoustics. The **HARP module acts as a current mode diffraction device that breaks up these resonances, improving the perceived resolution and coherency of the system. My Systems: http://www.audioshark.org/showthread...481#post158481

Re: Sigma speaker cable review
An excellent review Bud, thank you.
My Sigma speaker cables are now being made, I’m hoping to have them in a week or so.
My understanding is that although prolonged break in is not necessary, they do benefit from settling down for a few days.Colin
