Nice, big Marten fan here. How is the top of the mids up with the Pass?

    Wow, beautiful setup.

I’m curious about the Pass XA100.8 amps. How do you characterize their sound?

    Re: Martens arrive

Hi Kev, I am still kind of in shock at how different my system sounds now. I heard the sopranos a week ago with ear tube amps (wonderful mids into highs ) and I don't think the pass labs lose much if any of that. They fit together more seamlessly. I have just had this afternoon to start listening and positioning.

Hi Joe. I'm not as sure now. They sound so much better with the new speakers. Im impressed how different they can sound. Now faster more detailed but not dry at all. The sound is slightly warm, musical. The tube pre and the mullards could be helping all that. Piano keys are twinkling, strings are singing in new ways. I am surprised at how wonderful the bass sounds with a 2 way. focused and full. I'm not very good at descriptions but I have a big smile on my face.

hi richard a1, just wondering how wide your room is? the reason i ask is i might move my system to the basement but the room is only
12.5' wide and i have to finish the room and i'm afraid it won't sound good. thanks, john

    Re: Martens arrive

I really enjoy the 912. Its sounds wonderful and can be fine tuned by changing 5 7dj8 tubes 2 linestage and 3 in the phono stage. The phono stage is great with inputs for 2 turntables or one with 2 arms. It has adjustment for gain and loading on the fly with front meters to help see what is going on. I have been very happy with it over the last couple years.

Johni my room is only 10 feet across in the section the speakers sit in. Its a smaller sitting area of a larger bedroom so it goes deep and widens behind my seating area. The speakers are about 6ft apart at the tweeters and 2 ft from the walls on each side. The speakers are about 6 ft from the rear wall at the moment and it sounds surprisingly open.

    Re: Martens arrive

I think the two best sounding systems I heard so far have Marten Speakers (Coltrane II and Supreme)
There´s no need to say more.

Sure is a sexy looking system - love how the blue lights from the Pass Labs reflects off the Marten piano black finish.
