What to drive my new GG with?

After extensive demoing of the GG, I've taken the plunge and should be with me in a few weeks. For demos I've been using a Naim Unitiserve via S/PDIF and whilst the sound quality is good, it doesn't allow me any flexibility to use streaming services (mainly Tidal). My ripped music is stored on a NAS, but the Unitiserve is acting as the server (there is no upnp server on the NAS).

I'm keen to get a dedicated unit (as opposed to my macbook) which can be driven ideally from an ipad / iphone, and includes the ability to stream from Tidal. Roon would be an added benefit. Any ideas?

Congratulations on the Lampizator Golden Gate. Since Lampizators are built and optimized for DSD (PCM is also excellent), I would look at the Lumin U1. With the Lumin U1 you can upsample anything to anything, so you may find you prefer upsampling all your PCM to DSD with the Lampizator.

As much as I love the Aurender, you cannot convert PCM to DSD (only DSD to PCM). In 99% of the cases, this isn't a big deal, but for some Lampizator folks, upsampling PCM to DSD optimizes the DAC.

I don't know the Lumin. I would do a shootout between Lumin, Aurender N10, and Lampi Superkomputer.

You need to optimize the valves first.

I second what Mike said. You will need to set up a UPNP server tho for the U1. Or easier yet, get an L1 or 2.

The Unitiserve is a really nice piece, I went from that to the Lumin and haven't looked back.

I third the U1 as recommended by Mike. I run a U1 with my Golden Atlantic, sounds fantastic?

This review rates Antipodes DX better than the Aurender N10 http://www.hifi-advice.com/blog/revi...-music-server/

https://forum.audiogon.com/discussio...ook-cd?page=72 has done a lot of shootouts and is going to compare Aurender N10 (his current favorite) with Lampi SK and SGM at some point.

Since you are near London should be easy for you to compare Lampi SK, Aurender N10, Lumin, and Melco. Not sure if Antipodes is around.
