USB cable question ?
How important is the quality of the USB cable that runs from a external hard drive to a music server? I have a friend with a Playback Design Syrah server an Merlot dac and he was asking about the quality of the cable needed from an external drive to the rear connection of the server. I had no idea so I am looking for some input or suggestions.

It would only be important if it's being used to stream to the music server. It would not be important if the data is being loaded into storage or RAM in the music server, as it would have no effect on the sound quality in that case.

It looks like it will be used for streaming to the Syrah over 6tb of audio files. I would think he would be better off using a fast nas that way he could use the internal Syrah software or rooncore loaded to a ssd on the nas.
