The Raidho demos you recorded are definitely better than the one I witnessed.

There must have been a hiccup with speaker change or something when I popped in.

It was actually a cable demo. A competitor cable vs Ansuz A, C, D and DTC. The Ansuz A alone completely buried the competitor cable.

Some what off topic why no Gryphon in the states?

Seems who ever can fix that and bring the brand to NA would be doing a great service to both the hobby in NA and the brand.

I don't know. It sure would be awesome for us in the U.S. The products are just outstanding.

The Coliseum amp, the Diablo 120/300 are just something to behold. So is the Antileon Evo amp. Gorgeous.

We heard this Diablo 120 on the Gryphon Mojo S speakers and it was really something. The Gryphon Diablo 120 at 8900 Euro's is really something. The 300 is a beast at about 12,000 euros I think.

Here is a brand new review of that system (Gryphon 120 and Mojo S speakers):

The Munich HiFi show gave me some great ideas for business and brought clarity in so many respects. You can clearly separate the innovative leaders and great products from those brands resting on their laurels. I am definitely coming back with such energy and enthusiasm. On the business side, some brands will go, some new will be added and others will be under consideration. Having the ability to have a clear 360 degree view was invaluable.

As a side, on the source side, I found it interesting to see so many CD players in use.

I hope the N100C catches on. It's nice to have another connector option on the N100. The Ayre 8 series is a ridiculous price point. I am seeing so many innovative leaders trickling down their technology at a more affordable price point. I spoke with Desmond at length about the new preamp and Phono from Pass. They have really introduced some new technology in both products, but mostly, he told me they have made tremendous strides to get the noise floor down on both products.

I really love Pass products and the guys at Pass are top notch. I have to say, my X350.8 might be one of the best amps - SS or tube - I have ever owned. At it's price point, it's a steal.

Also it is about time Aurender added a ripper! I have not ever understood why most servers are devoid of a ripper. Being able to skip a NAS and computer interface makes these things so much more attractive to an audiophile looking to transition over from a transport...

Also, did you hear the Gryphon Kodo?

Many commercially available servers have a ripper as well - Antipode, W4S comes to mind. Its not the ripper that is interesting with Aurender N100C but it doubles up a CD player as well with coaxial digital out. Most server lacks it.

I will say, I was throughly impressed meeting Mr. Rasmussen. I had the chance to speak with him a few times and I was even given a wonderful hardcover "coffee table" book as a gift with over 100 pages of past and present Gryphon gear. When I walked into the room, he looked at me, extended his hand and said how nice it was to meet me. He is very tall. Very nice. Passionate about what he does. He also has a great team and the Gryphon products look and sound exemplary.

As for dealership, I think those are questions that might be answered down the road when Mr. Rasmussen decides the time is right. Hopefully very soon. Munich Hi-End Official Photos

Did you see my videos? Yes I heard the Kodo's. I posted many videos with them and photos too. They are an awesome speaker. They require a very large room to do their best. I would guess 25 x 35 or bigger. They are a speaker which is best for on axis listening (as they explained to us). I believe, if memory serves me correctly, the bass towers are active. The tweeter and midrange towers were driven by a Gryphon stereo amp with about 150 watts of pure class A per channel.

The smaller Mojo S speakers are very impressive as well. They do not sound like a standmount. They have a big sound that oozes musicality. The 120 integrated sounded superb.

Mike this is an incredible amount of work. Great pics and vids. More importantly, you seem to have been able to cover a broader swath of the show than publications typically do. Well done!

Mike , So grateful for all the pics Vids and report --I've known Flemming for many years and you would not meet a more affable gentleman in the Industry--good luck if you decide to pursue an association. I always wanted to take him Black Marlin Fishing but our times never got to chime!
As an aside when /if you ever proceed on the linkup--maybe Flemming with tell you the real story of how the brand came to to be "Persona non Grata" in the US-

Yes, I saw your videos. Appreciate the coverage. The Kodo looks very impressive and, you're right, the bass towers are powered by a built-in class A/B, 1000W, Gryphon-designed amp.

Here's hoping that things work out soon such that U.S. audiophiles can benefit from the awesome Gryphon gear...

Not 'reviewers'. I'm referring to reviews of shows (AXPONA, RMAF) where the rooms seem to have digital computer sources (I see the tablets) but not the CD spinners you're saying you saw at Munich.

As someone who is too lazy to rip my entire collection of CDs and use a server, and too cheap to spend thousands on a turntable/tone arm(s)/phono stage and duplicating my library in vinyl, I have felt somewhat inadequate as a pure spinner to never see a spinner as the source in reviews of other shows' rooms. Always desperately seeking validation for whatever ways I am set in, I was intrigued (maybe pleased) to see your comment about spinners as a source in a few rooms at Munich.

That is a great way to explain the old school sound!
Sounds obvious now but describing audio is an art by itself.

In all my years reading professional reviews and user comments, I have never read the term "paper signature". Using a term to define itself or answer the question is circular. I still do not know what "paper signature" means.
