The tweeter is just astounding on the M3 and the 3x7 inches bass drivers gives my the right amount of bass slam and balance, plus, it's so fast that there's no prolong decay, it's just right! I only have about 70 hours on it, and continue to break them in. Here's my current system since I can't find a way to update my signature:

    Speakers: Magico M3
    Amps/Pre: Marantz MA9S2 and SC7S2
    Digital: Marantz SA10
Analogue: DIY Plinth of Aluminum and Leadshot filled with SS fixtures and arm mounts; VPI HRX Supper Platter, JMW 12.7i and 10.5i arms (SS).
    Cartridge: Ortofon Cadenza Black
Phono Stages: DIY Pass Labs XONO and DIY Joe Curcio MC Phono
Power condition: Surge X and VPI SDS
    Cables: DIY I/C and SC
Acoustic Treatment: DIY Absorbers and Diffusors; Foam Corner Bass Traps
    GOTOMA8,

When things settle down a bit and you have a few minutes, interested in your Marantz SA10 choice and experience.

    Re: Magico M3 arrived today

I would lie if I said I was blown away

This is a vintage budget stuff. The CD player was $350 back in 1992. The amp was more expensive, but still less than $1000 (it weights 25kg and is a dual mono design).

The Technics SU-V900 amp was actually my first real hi-fi component. I sold my Commodore Amiga computer to buy one back in 1991. This is how it all begun for me. I have sold it in 1994 and re-bought it just recently.

Adam - your room looks amazing. I absolutely love the M3's and if I was to ever change speakers at my house, it would 100% be the M3's. Trust me, I am seriously thinking of doing it. Also, I want to publicly congratulate you on building one of the most successful audio shows (the Audio show in Poland). It's considered now one of the top audio shows in the world. Well done my friend.

    Re: Magico M3 arrived today

I haven't posted anything on this forum for several months. The reason? I've been too busy listening to the M3's. Over the months they have developed to the point I have no desire to upgrade anything in this system. Hard to believe but it's true. The combination of hardware I have plus the room voicing that Jim Smith did for me has created the perfect "small room" environment for two channel stereo. I just wish there were more music files available that were produced well enough to challenge the system. All in good time I guess.

As Thanksgiving approaches, I'm thankful to Mike for introducing me to the M3's, to the REL subs, to the Aurender W20 and most of all to Jim Smith. Thanks Mike.

Eric - that's wonderful to hear and having heard your system, I can understand why! The system synergy is wonderful and Jim's efforts really brought the system to the next level.
