    Re: New Pickups

Chris, Interesting that is what is going on now. Not that long ago, everyone was buying Pickups because you could get similar interior to a car plus the open bed. I figured the lower cost was due to less and or smaller interior to build along with simpler tooling for the body than cars need.

What looks like has happened is the Car MFGs also figured out that people were buying them for that same reason so they are now just jacking up the prices because for now, they are still selling like Bread and Milk on the prediction of Flurries.

I am again in the market for a nicer SUV and recently went to the Philly Car Show to look around. My biggest problem with most affordable cars today is that but for a very few, you cannot get full power seats on the Passenger side. We both have back issues and need to be able to adjust the seats more than the norm. That ruled out most of the lower end SUVs including the Toyota Highlander, Chevy, Ford. The last car we bought after cancelling our order for a Toyota Avalon for same seat issue was a Buick LaCrosse. We are now leaning towards the newer Envision or the full size, but with options, the prices are getting close to what you posted.

Good luck and let us know what you choose.

My new F-150 Limited is up there (low $60's). Worth every penny. Drives as nice as a great sedan, has plenty of space in the back for long legged adults. Has massage chairs (OMG!). Hauls speakers, amps, hockey bags, bikes, etc. Has every option known to man. Awesome vehicle.

Mike did you get a 2WD ? heck even the 4WD drove nice. And which engine did you get. That has been a biggie decision for me, the 2.7, 3.5 or the 5.0. and to 4WD or not.

Man with my knees I had a hell of a time getting out of the vette, plus hauling mulch and plants would be rather wild Kodak moment.

    Re: New Pickups

My '09 Silverado is getting long in the tooth, so I regularly am checking out the new trucks. $60–$70K 4x4 with Cummins diesel. F-me! I usually decide to postpone for another year and keep the old truck, but the time will come and we get an Airstream so I'll want th diesel for hauling. There is a great and wonderful western USA that I've seen too little of. And of course, there is Montana! (Like the Russian sailor said in Hunt for Red October "I should have liked to have seen Montana")

I have a Ram 2500 Laramie Crew Cab (short bed) with the Cummins Engine. Amazingly comfortable, tons of room and a great drive. We actually take it on most trips now!

If your looking at Airstreams, then you should not be complaining about the price of the truck to pull it!!! lol $$$$$$$

I had a 2006 Ram 3500 Crew w/ Cummins. OMG! That was a beast. I miss it dearly because it was before all the emissions hardware. The price back then was extremely reasonable. I loved that engine.
