Help me Pick a new Rolex
I have never ever had such difficulty choosing a watch before.
I am looking at 3 diff Rolex's
1.......2016 Oyster Perpetual Datejust 41 mm ......to me this IS the Quintessential look/idea of what a watch is .......beautiful 2 tone with 18K gold links and 904L steel.......what a classic watch.
2.......2016 Air King.........When I seen this watch in person I was truly stunned! It looks nothing like my Air King I bought in 2006.......it is a very fresh/bright design.......its also much heavier and thicker as well.
3.........2016 Datejust II 41 mm, steel and white gold. the blue face is striking and the fluted bezel compliments it perfectly.Love the Roman Num's as well.
These are the 3 that have me stumped ......I would love to hear any opinions and your advice.

Re: Help me Pick a new Rolex
Hey- another Rollie guy here (and would never have guessed it as I've always hated the brand!). I *love* the OP39 and prefer it to the new Air King. Its the perfect blend of classic and modern - it doesn't look like a Rolex and therefore gets no attention. Its impeccably built and has the same movement as the higher end watches. And price-wise, its reasonable. You can also dress it up or down - I've worn it with a suit and with shorts.
Check out Felix's review here:

You can't go wrong with a Datejust either for something a bit more dressy - I much prefer your first DJ to the roman numeralled/overstyled 3rd one. Good luck!Brinkmann Bardo w/ EMT HSD-006 cart, MSB Reference DAC --> Linear Tube Audio MicroZOTL --> Ampzilla 2000, 2nd Edition --> Fyne Audio F1-12

Re: Help me Pick a new Rolex
I have a stainless with white face and love it. The blue face is awesome but I am not big on Roman numerals so I'd love the two tone first one. It's beautiful.

I am not a big fan of High End Watches, but if someone was going to give me one of the three you listed, I would pick #2 Air King because I like Real Numbers

Number one gets my vote. Classic design, sporty yet stylish. My friend has that exact Submariner, also a nice watch.

Re: Help me Pick a new Rolex
I'm a big fan of their tool watches (I have the 2016 GMT II) but of the 3 you posted, my preference would be nr 3 - it is the most elegant and universal at the same time.

Re: Help me Pick a new Rolex
Hi, If resale is an issue, Stainless and gold hold up very poorly. I like the dark face Air King. A unique look. When I wear my Sub, I notice everyone on the planet has the same…

I was able to try all 3 on my wrist and as cheesy as it sounds the one that "spoke to me the most" was the new 2016 Air King
