I think they made a point in the Geek Pulse, but crowd engineering goes over kill (dac, cables, remote control, upgraded parts, etc.), and cause people to go over hype.

That 3D Awesomefier is just a marketing trick. It's actually crossfeed
However, this dac is still special in the way that it also decode DSD, and use ESS Sabre 9018K2M, top of the line dac chip.

How do you say it's weak with headphone? with 3W you can drive most of headphones out there at loud to very loud volume. I pair my Sen HD650 with Dragon Fly, and they only have 150mW, and it's louder...

Yeah, there are also the Geek Pulse that decode DSD and come with headphone out and also headphone out balance! It's now 299$, which I think cheap when you add a Modi/Magni into the combo.

Problem with DSD, there are not so many things to listen to: ....
There are only 5,000 albums out there to record with DSD, and DSD dac is still too expensive. -

Only 3-5% of my music libraries is 24/192, and I can't hear a differences between 24/192 vs 24/96.

Mad Dog 3.2 is my personal favorite.
In term of sonic ability alone, they should be sold at 400-500usd, plus extra from Dan's services.
For the money, Mad Dog is a great headphone. -
