Well I guess this is not RMS. It's the only reason, since also Colin confirm to me that continous power is 100W and 400W are only peaks.
BTW this is not a problem for me.

400W RMS it's very different from 100W stated by Hypex.

Well I see that NC500 is well over 100W, perhaps for sure is not 400W. So usually manufacturer declare conservative value for power, and I think Hypex do the same.

An audio engineer told me this: "The powers declared by Hypex are in peak watts. The NC500 delivers 100W RMS continuous with peaks that change depending on the load of the speakers...

Jack you are right about different market segment, but both amps shares the same NC500 modules and also standard Hypex power supply.
They only difference for input board, where Bel Canto use...

So no idea .... does anybody compare NORD Hypex NC500 with Bel Canto Ref600 ???
