For my main music listening system, I have never owned any amps other than McIntosh. Fortunately their solid state amps run Class A up to about 10-12 watts which is more than enough for my speakers....

Just to add some clarification, a primary advantage of horn over conventional ported cone is that the drivers don't move nearly as much, this is by design. This feature greatly reduces distortion...

I like how Vandersteen divides the midrange between two drivers but the low 85db sensitivity rating results in more distortion.
