Re: Core Audio Racks Arrival on Monday...

These wooden racks seem to be finely constructed with audio performance features. Have you given any consideration to modifying them with back-side screens/panels to hide cabling?

  9. Re: Tubed Power Amplifiers. Are the disadvantages too great ?

I have tried to keep it simple and reliable since 1968, McIntosh solid state plugged directly into the wall. Sidney Coderrman said solid state and tube should sound the same if designed correctly. I...

Re: Are they going to destroy audio?

For my main music listening system, I have never owned any amps other than McIntosh. Fortunately their solid state amps run Class A up to about 10-12 watts which is more than enough for my speakers....

Re: How do you blend your sub?

I am surprised you believe you need the addition of a single 13" subwoofer for music listening. The Cornwall has two 15" bass drivers and the La Scala has two 15" folded horn drivers. These are new...

Re: How do you blend your sub?

Just to add some clarification, a primary advantage of horn over conventional ported cone is that the drivers don't move nearly as much, this is by design. This feature greatly reduces distortion...

Facts and figures make for a better discussion. Subjective opinions without technical backup generally lead to controversy and waste of time.

    Wilson claims 20Hz - 25kHz (?), 7" midrange extends all the way from 125Hz - 12.5kHz (wow), low 86db sensitivity (distortion)

Re: TAS Speaker of the Year

I like how Vandersteen divides the midrange between two drivers but the low 85db sensitivity rating results in more distortion.
