    Re: Another High-End Robbery

Kind of reminds me of a movie about a businessman's child being kidnapped: the guy was asked a $1 million ransom but his reaction was spectacular: he made a taped public statement with $2 million...

Almost sure! And maybe across the Pacific too - you won't see many Chinese customers bothering with checking the SN.

P.S. Methink they would be glad to know the SN is from the stolen lot, it would...

I did not select my "regular" dealer based on discount nor on knowledge (I know what I want) but on his buy-back policy: he buys back my gear at whatever I paid for it provided it was purchased from...

Re: What High End BS Claims have you found to actually work in your system?

So this is not isolation but "conversion" (or transformation, sorry but English is not my first language). Isolating something means not allowing energy generated by the "thing" to be transmitted nor...

Re: What High End BS Claims have you found to actually work in your system?

Mike, energy is not stored or sent back, it is transformed in other (more benign) forms of energy like heat. I do agree that the term used (isolation) is incorrect, I would call it conversion!

Re: The Use of the Word "Neutral" in Audio

    That's an interesting subject!

Re: The Use of the Word "Neutral" in Audio

Mike, I do agree with BlueFoxThere is no "what went in" with a musical instrument, so artists have the chioce of sound. However, a stereo is a reproducing device, so it should not mess with the sound...

Re: The Use of the Word "Neutral" in Audio

Yes I know what you said! However, by stating
you are not talking about neutrality since, by definition, neutrality cannot commit sins of omission, as well as not add anything to what was recorded....

Re: The Use of the Word "Neutral" in Audio

Neutrality can be measured, at least for the electronic part of the reproducing chain. The electro-acoustical part is kind of more difficult to assess but not impossible.

    Whether you like...

Re: What Pins Your High-End Audio BS Detectors?

    A couple observations first:
    - as of the current state of things neutrality can be measured for most links of the audio chain.
    - break-in is real for most gear, for a bunch of different reasons....
