Maybe the sub has a tendency to double at low frequencies. Just raise the low level cut off a little higher. You are not going to get clean musical bass at 30kHz are you?

Simply great speakers. Unrivaled midrange, no fatigue highs, solid musical bass, easy to drive ( 20 tube watts 845's ) go loud, can enjoy at low levels.

I haven't heard the Vertex. How is the bass response? Don't want to highjack this thread but curious.
