Re: How Science Got Sound Wrong
I suppose the mere mention of someone preferring their digital playback to their vinyl playback is just too much to bear?
Why don't you elucidate for me the very wrong-edness of my comment? ... -

I'm not "relying" on someone's opinion. I can talk about the advancements in the digital realm from personal experience. Make of it what you want. I do trust (not rely on) what Mike Lavigne...

No doubt you have 30+ years experience of having analog sounding better than digital.
But, I get the sense that this might be changing sooner than we think. Taiko Audio, to name one... -

Re: Lumin X1 Fiber Optic Network Discussions
I read somewhere that there is "glass" and "PVC" fiber optic. Is this referring to the cable's coating? As I understand it all fiber optic is light passing through a glass tube?

It's not clear what he's using as a server for his ripped cd's or how his streaming is set up? A comparison only tells us something if you know what's compared.

Ed, Have you considered running Fiber the 45' between your switches instead of coax? I've replaced my 100' of ethernet with Fiber between two Startech fmc's. I may try the Sonore Optical Module...

The creators of the audiophile switches will argue that their switch is better than no switch because it filters noise and other digital gremlins that are there independent of a switch.
On whether... -

Re: Network switch, FMC, cable upgrades worthwhile when router can't be co-located?
I do think they (ASR) make a compelling argument that the place to measure the impact, or not, of an audiophile switch is at the DAC output. But then the argument comes down to-- are they measuring...
