eBay and Discogs are good places for mostly used Pre-recorded tapes. Then there are new 15 IPS tapes. See link for where to buy.

An older picture before my system got some major upgrades... Pioneer RT-1020L fully overhauled.
Currently not connected, but did have it running about a month ago. Need to start hunting down some prerecorded tapes at a decent price.

Here are my 15ips 2 track machines (2 Ampex ATR102's one with 1/2" headblock, other 1/4" headblock, 1 Otari MX5050BII plays both 2 and 4 track stereo). All have bypass playback wiring to my Merrill Trident tape preamp (which takes three inputs, hence the name). LarryIMG_1008.jpg

You should ask your dealer to bring the CH stuff he wants to sell you for home audition in your system. IMO there is no way to tell what will sound better in your system.
