    Re: Speaker Cable Synergy D1

Either or would be great. I'm trying to get my room to work and am interested in seeing what others have done.
    My System:
A trusty old Pioneer PD-65 as a Transport, A Mac Mini, a Merrill Heirloom T.T. as sources. A Lampizator DAC to Fusion Audio Romance Cables to an Audio Horizons Tubed PreAmp, Coincident Frankenstein 300B monoblocks, Fusion speaker cables, AudioKinesis Zephryn 46 Speakers. pair Rythmik F-12 subs, DCCA Furutech and Kaplan Power cables, APC power conditioner, Two dedicated 20Amp power lines. DIY corner traps and Acoustic Geometry Curves for room treatment.

I just realized the picture makes it look like I have a ton of toe. I have a measured 7 degrees of toe. Sounds best for my square treated room. Not as much toes as it looks like in my iPhone picture.

Also, my CHORD DAC is hidden behind my rack. I use the 777ES for SACD and then the DAC for redbook.

    Hello Gitteeup,

Could do with more information but my initial reaction / questions are:

    1. Do you have Raidho speaker stands coming for the D1's? That would make a big difference.
    2. Raidho's love toe-in to the seating position. 7 degrees is not much, for a small listening space i'd expect much more.
    3. I see lots of what look to be absorption panels. What are they? GIK242, 244? Do they have scatter plates?
    4. Is there any diffusion in the room? Whats used at the first sidewall reflection point?

    Cheers
    Ralph

    1. Yes stands are on the way. These are just a temporary solution.
    2. I tried varying levels of toe and based on room and treatments, I get a tight coherent center image with the toe I have. It took a lot more with my old Revel speakers. Once the stands arrive, I will play with toe more. The stands I am using are 2 inches lower than the factory stands so I am not going to worry to much until the factory stands arrive. I am certain impressions will change on the correct stands.
    3. Scatter plates are on first reflections. Immediately next to them are absorption panels. I saw your blog and am impressed with your iterations and commitment to the pursuit of perfection. Well done!

If you are open to experimentation I'd urge you to try diffusor panels at the first side wall reflection points - a 2 dimensional Primitive Root Diffuser or traditional Skyline®-diffusor or similar. If set up properly this has the effect of increasing the perceived sound-stage, seemingly beyond the confines of the physical room.
