    Re: Raidho D3.1 & Devialet L'Original d'Atelier

Mike, I have to thank you for the candid advise to which I held dearly. Its no small cash the system I put up (to me at least) and I do not wish to go thru even one more cycle of gear rolling. Promised my wife and family I'll be good from now on. Never have I been more careful in electing the gears, listening to them countless of times and ensuring they do held an endearment to me in terms of looks, reliability, support and most of all, being musical. I am not saying what I had amassed is the best, but to me, its about the best I have since I went in this marvellous, yet a little mystical hobby. Thank you so much. Rick was right about you. Passionate, nice and more importantly, very friendly! Cheers!

    Wow, congratulations Jerry.

Out of interest what other loudspeakers did you audition before selecting Raidho's?

Its already been delivered - 3 days old and still running in.

I've posted it in the thread "Retirement System ...".

I've not listen to much before the purchase, the usual fare at Adelphi ... As size does matter, the D3.1 seems the best fit for the small room I have.

So far, so good. Loving every moment of it. Only quarrel I have is that it had no grills ... not that it matters, but really worried when someone with itchy fingers comes along.

    Cheers

    Awesome Jerry.

I was just wondering whether you auditioned any of Magico's latest products and if so what was it about Raidho that pushed you in that direction? I do understand that sometimes it can simply be easier to buy everything at one shop.

As for no grills, it can be a concern, but i've observed that many high end manufacturers omit them.

Yes, I was told by a friend who is going for the latest M3 Pro (which is around the same price) but in the end, like you said, easier to do everything at one shop, plus the size. The thin profile suits better and since I am not in any way going to have a bigger space, these speakers fits to the hilt. Plus, the musicality is awesome. As for grills, omitting them mean more purchases and retrofit when drivers comes damaged? I am just joking. Maybe its the trend today.

Two speakers I would really like to have would be the Rockport Altair or the Lyra. They look gorgeous. But these are only dreams as I don't have the space, plus that deep a pocket and convincing story to pull thru.

I am happy to retire this hobby with the current setup.

    Cheers.

    Re: Raidho D3.1 & Devialet L'Original d'Atelier

sorry to bump such an old thread but it's one of the few i've seen specifically on the 3.1. I am weighing the D3.1 as a potential new speaker (having just sold my c1.1 - which worked beautifully in my small room)
is the d3.1 free of the boom that plauged the d3 and ~somewhat~ the d3 v2? very few dealers near by have a d3.1 for demo so any help is appreciated

i was considering going to the magico s3mk2 but am having cold feet switching away from a brand that i love so so much
