I spoke with a designer of one of the top 5 speaker manufacturers and he said the Raidho's pop because the ports aren't big enough. I wonder if the .1 finds a way around this? I love the Raidho sound, owned three pairs, but the bass hump and popping drove me bonkers. For me, they were so close....but yet, so far.

When Lars came over and demoed the Dtc power cord I asked him his thought regarding the pre and power. All he said it adds many layers or resolution to the music. Like going from Ceramic cables to all Diamond TC's. Of course he was comparing to the U300 integrated (which by the way is killer). Also balanced out pre and input for the power along with 2 dacs.

    Raidho D x.1 announced

Well, well, well - isn't that interesting. Exactly what this manufacturer said was the challenge with the existing version. The ports were too small!

This looks like a superb fix. How the heck would you retro fit that?

New back plate and maybe some different length or type of internal tube? Just a guess. Swap out the crossover and replace the drivers. Your done

Can't wait for pricing on the upgrade and try to add a DTC power cord at the very least.

As a (mostly) happy D1 owner , this is exciting news, thanks for the post . Fingers crossed on the upgrade path . The things Raidho does in terms of the speed and the holographic soundstage are unreal but as Mike said , power handling & that bass energy issue are detriments to me. Fingers crossed.....

Unusual looking speaker connections with the new design. I much prefer my D-3's traditional binding posts.

I haven't read anything thus far that says Raidho has addressed the mid-bass bump at 60 - 80 Hz. I thought this was driven by Michael's implementation of psychoacoustics but I could be wrong. With all of the changes, they certainly could have dealt with this issue. I guess time will tell.

    Best,

    Thanks Ken!

This was the biggest question I had in my mind. Higher volumes are not nearly as important to me as the mid-bass hump, in fact it gets worse at higher volumes. I've posted it before and I will say it again, the D3 was an almost perfect speaker, for me, except the bass issues drove me bonkers.
