Not sure why the photos are sideways. If you click on the attachments they are in the correct orientation. They have just a couple of hours on them, not that impressive out of the box, and I need to work on positioning a little bit. I am not going to say any more than that right now. There is a whole lot of air that comes out the back ports, I will say that!

Any further thoughts on your C1.2s now you have a few more hours on them? Is there greater cone travel with the new surrounds resulting in more movement of air?

    Re: New Raidho Cx.2 series

Thanks for your prompting, I will try to briefly describe my journey so far. Really remarkable turnaround time and great communication with Radio. right out of the box these did not seem all that impressive. I continued to drive them with my U70 tube amp. Big cone flapping still in evidence, I even moved the crossover up to 120 hz. Still just not enough gain, the audessy is showing 8 db loss in gain. What is interesting is it shows the fronts as "large" and a crossover of 40 hz. So, I drag down my HK990, which had sounded so awful with the C 1s, glassy and harsh. I didn't want to reset everything so I just used the processor input to use the power amp. Now this is more like it. Immediately noticed an improvement in the sound and much more crankability. Moved the crossover down to 80hz and still no woofer flapping. I do pick up some more detail and tone on the bass. I also moved the speakers a little further apart. Unlike the Gallos which would throw a soundstage from corner to corner this is more like a window in front of you that you look into. A little bit of extension beyond the boxes, but not much, yet.

One thing I have to get used to is the incredible detail, and how deep the soundstage is. Music can sound much more complex when you are hearing all the little details in the background. I think they are still breaking in, and there have been a few moments of audio bliss when I can say surely this is as good as it can get.

So, to solve the power amp problem I have ordered an Odyssey Audio Kismet power amp. Should be plenty of power and a good match.

    It's always something.

Thanks for the update. How many hrs do you have on them? I've found the tweeter needs about 350hrs to settle down. It's a long story but I'm on my 4th pair of brand new D2.1's. The speaker overall needs about 650hrs before everything falls into place. As far as placement do you have them toed in pointing to your shoulders? With both the D1's and D2.1's I get a huge soundstage that goes way beyond the speakers.

I would also suggest trying something. Didn't you mention you have a Raidho dealer about an hour away? If so and they have some C/D stands either see if you can demo them or bring your stands to the dealer to compare and hear the impact the Raidho designed stands have.

I have less than 100 hours on them so I am sure a lot more break in will be required. There have been some moments of bliss, so there is potential. I have them toed in, farther apart than my Gallos. I suppose I shouldn't say this but I did have a communication from Radho that the stands were good, but that I wasn't missing too much without the Radho stands. I may pick up a pair used, if I can find them.

There will be lots of break in, and the Kismet amp will also require breaking in. Next might be new speaker cables. I am using Audioquest CV8 right now.

As far as the stands I recommend comparing your stands to the Raidho stands be it in home or at a dealer. Mike Borresen has a video regarding them.

BTW congrats on the new amp. As far as speaker cables I think you should consider a 'foundation' like a MainzD8 with the best Ansuz power cord you can afford before speaker cables. Anyhow IMO don't purchase too many things at once. Breaking in multiple things at once can be a bit confusing (been there - done that).

Anyhow Good Luck and take your time.
