MIT in the store!
This is where I can get into trouble. . Without going into too much, let's just say, I greatly prefer the MIT on the systems I've tried it on. These aren't cables where you say "this one does this better and that one does that better." ON THE SYSTEMS I'VE TRIED (full disclosure: all Magico systems to date), this is like comparing a $500 Rotel amp to a pair of Pass XS300's. I've tried dozens of cables, and they were all various shades of gray. The MIT cables are entirely on another planet on both a micro and macro level. I'm glad Alon at Magico asked the guys at MIT send me a full loom to try. I'll admit, when MIT first called me, I did everything I could to persuade them that I wasn't interested. But they persisted and boy, am I glad they did. Trust me, there have been lots of "WTF?" moment as I've been listening. The differences have been so substantial, you honestly begin to question what you're hearing and whether this is just some weird placebo affect. I'm here to assure you, it's not. Thankfully I've had others help me confirm what I'm hearing.

MIT in the store!
1000% yes. Beg or borrow some. Do whatever you can to try them in your system. After 3 days, there will be no way you could take them out. I'm hearing wonderful tone on guitar, piano, amazing decay on instruments and voices, resolution at a higher level (like a thin veil removed), a much more liquid, fluid sound. Much greater dynamics and at a macro level, such a level of emotional engagement.

Re: MIT in the store!
Did your conversation with Bruce involve any discussion about the network boxes?
If so did it alleviate any possible remaining reservations related to using cables with boxes?
Obviously you have moved past this after hearing the results, but I am curious as Bruce is certainly a legendary figure in cable design.Buddy

Funny I thought the 2CD series simply added that circuit (2CD) over the EVO.

Re: MIT in the store!
Well, as they say, hearing is believing. Yes, I will admit, I was a "no boxes on my cables" guy. I was the biggest skeptic of boxes on cables. But after hearing what these are doing, there is NO going back. This isn't like "oh I hear a little more sweetness on top" or "I hear less grunge in the lower mids" or "bass is tighter", this is "holy sh!t am I hallucinating?" I knew when I took the cables to my clients to try, I knew I wouldn't get them back. You just can't live without them once you've heard them.
I did talk to Bruce to get a better understanding of what is doing what and WHY I'm hearing what I'm hearing. I told him, now I'm very glad they didn't take no for an answer.
I still cannot believe what I'm hearing. Bigger than a component change that's for sure.
Just to be clear, I have only heard them on Magico. Once I get my next set, I will try them on Vivid, KEF, Avantgarde, ELAC, etc. I'm really curious to hear if the impact is as dramatic. Bruce assures me it will be.

MIT in the store!
I did too. But all MIT cables have 2C3D technology. As you go up the line, the number of poles increases, as does the size of the components in the boxes - capacitors, etc. FWIW, Bruce seemed most pleased with the Heritage 2C3D & Evo series. It seems like he achieved a goal of bringing a good percentage of the top dog cable sound down to lower price points.
I won't pretend to know everything about what the cables are doing. The MIT website is chalked full of white papers, patent information and more for those more technically inclined. I just want to listen.
FWIW, I asked Bruce what he uses at home, he said the ACC206.My Systems: http://www.audioshark.org/showthread...481#post158481

Re: MIT in the store!
I have nothing against Acoustic Zen but, it looks like their cables are very simple but, high quality. Gets the job done etc... Eg..they don't have the technology of an MIT etc... With that system you mentioned the MIT loom had to have taken it to another level. Given some of the positive comments on this thread.

Re: MIT in the store!
I'll be curious to know myself. Well at least on all Levels of the 2C3D line. I asked MIT but, they didn't give me an answer. They stated they didn't advertise "Poles" in the 2C3D line because customers would get confused when compared with the Oracle line. Funny, MIT claims they are the only cable manufacture that can quantify their line and performance via "Poles of Articulation" but, chose not to market the 2C3D line like that.

Re: MIT in the store!
It's similar to the ORACLE series, but the ORACLE series still offers a refining quality due to its use of even great and more robust parts.
The 2C3D is definitely a sweet spot, but I'm jonesing for the ACC206.

Re: MIT in the store!
Mike,
Good to know. I just wish MIT had a PDF with a comparison of all their products. Eg.. a column for articulation poles, JFA, etc..all of their technologies...
I'm curious to see how MIT plays with the other speaker lines you carry besides Magico. I know you mentioned Bruce Brisson stated he felt the the improvement would still be as profound.
Also, does the owner who bought your 2C3D cables have any impressions to share to forum? He has quite an impressive system as you mentioned. Even before he added the MIT.
Thanks

Re: MIT in the store!
The cost of most MIT cabling is outrageous. A set of these speaker wires cost more than my speakers. A set of bi-wire are nearly 19k. For that money, buy better source components or upgrade some that makes a real difference. While I do believe there is benefit from good wire. I have all Wire World Silver. This cost level is wire is snake oil.

Re: MIT in the store!
Have you heard them? These MIT cables made a bigger difference than a new source component or new amp. I was fundamentally against "boxes on cables" until I heard these in my system. Another owner (Sandman) has also posted his impressions. The MIT cables, IC's and digital cables are the single most exciting new product I've tried in 3 years or more. I'm stunned at the improvement.
MIT also make the much more modestly priced EVO level (and three different price points in that level) offering a good dose of the technology from the 2C3D series. My Systems: http://www.audioshark.org/showthread...481#post158481

Re: MIT in the store!
Mike, I am also very interested in your thoughts concerning 2C3D vs. EVO especially with the Vitus.
I will probably receive Cardas Clear Beyond in two weeks for testing. Perhaps anyone has any thoughts comparing the Cardas to the MIT?

MIT in the store!
First hour was rough (I did NOT ask MIT to burn them in), but after that, things started to smooth out. What I hear is such amazing presence, better separation, MUCH better in the lower mids (no smearing or excess color/bloat), BIG bass and smooth on top. Really, it's all there.
I won't be able to compare to the 2C3D for a few days, but I would have to think MIT is right, you get "more" of everything as you move up the line.
Oh, and one more thing, the MIT single ended cables are much quieter than my Siltech's.
