Problem with Roon not finding my L1

I'm going nuts! I bought a Sonic Transporter i5 as my Roon core. I can't get it or Roon to see my L1.

I even tried to hook them up together using a USB cable and still can't find it.

I'm obviously not good with computers........but I followed any and all instructions I could find.

    Help!!!!!

On the LUMIN App, please check to make sure Roon Ready is highlighted On under Options Menu for L1.

I don’t have this option in the L1 menu.

Generally, I thought the L1 only presents as a music library to Lumin devices (and I guess by extension the Esoteric).

I saw Peter address this on another site and he said to use my L1 as a USB device. I ran a USB cable to my Sonic Transporter and it still didn't see it.

Do you have another Windows computer you can try attaching to via USB? Or maybe you’ve done that already in the process of copying music files over. If so and that worked, then we know your challenge is specific to the Sonic Transporter>L1 connection and yes, a question for Sonic support.

Now this has me wondering though - what is your goal? I’m pretty sure the L1 can’t be connected via USB and simultaneously be seen by your Esoteric. For instance, if all you want is storage for the Roon Core, then an external SSD might be a better (and cheaper) option the than the L1. Sorry if I’m guessing wrong, just trying to help.

My apologies, I mixed up L1 with other unit when suggesting Roon Ready activated for it.

Re: Problem with Roon not finding my L1

For Roon to be able to play to a device, you must first enable that device within Roon.
    Here is something to try:
    1. Make sure that Roon and your Lumin are connected to the same network.
    2. In Roon, go to the settings and look for the audio devices. All Roon endpoints should show. Check if the Lumin device is showing.
    3. If it is shown, then make sure that the Lumin device is ENABLED.

Once you enable the device, you should be able to play music through it.

    Good luck!

L1 is not a SMB network file server, so Roon cannot see it from network. The only way it'd be seen in Roon is to connect the L1 as USB HDD to the Roon Core computer.

Please try these instructions about Drive Mounter function:
    MySonicorbiter

If you see two partitions of L1 from the Drive Mounter, please mount only the larger partition that is close to the capacity to the L1, not the very small partition (in a Linux file system for L1 internal database).

Peter, I followed the instructions from the drive mounter, when I click on USB the dropdown says "None"

Could you see the contents of the L1 USB HDD if connected to another computer (not SonicTransporter) or NAS? Please also try using a different USB cable.
