    Re: Daemon by Jeff Rowland

I ask Mike to put an ear on the Daemon unit. He said it sounded "awesome". Hopefully he will chime in here, and qualify he thoughts a bit more. I'm sure separates can provide a tad more sound quality. But I am hoping this unit can get to near 90% of what separates are capable of, as it would sure clean up a ton of clutter. I am OVER the wiring mess !!!

Any thoughts on how it compares to separates that would retail near its 38k pricepoint ?? Thanks.

    Jerry,

I have a feeling you might like this unit. I detect a tiny bite in the audio, so it might be right up your alley.

I think the real question is whether you need that much power, and what you think about Class D amps which require massive amounts of NFB in general. If you don't need that much power, you may be better off with a more traditional Class A/B amp.

For my intended application (driving the woofers in an active setup), I would benefit from Class D, because I won't suffer the usual drawbacks.

Thanks Dan. It's really a nice looking piece in person. I'd like to hear it on my own speakers to get a sense of what it can do. I heard it at last years audio show in White Plains, NY with unfamiliar speakers, it was really good.

It is a lot of eggs and money in one basket......without hearing it in our own system.
