    New Building-HT/2 Channel

I sold my grouper boat , and no longer need a place to store it.Therefore , the logical next step, would be , to build a room for HT/Audio .I will post pic's of the process.
After reading about room ratio's for way to long, the dimensions are 20x26x10 .
The construction spec's are a compromise based on budgetary constraints. Thanks to all of you for the advise i get from reading this forum.
Mike was probably the primary reason for this, as the first real system i ever heard was at his place.I was stunned with the sound.
Hopefully, the iron will pass inspection the am, and tomorrow the concrete will flow.
I am trying to find vermiculite in florida ,to insulate and soundproof the block and am finding that anything out of the norm is a problem to find!

The construction continues.I ended up injecting foam in the block to provide sound isolation and increased energy efficiency. The roof is also going to be sprayed with 8 inches of open cell foam to increase Stc and reduce energy consumption. The process eliminates soffit venting as the foam is sprayed from the bock to the roof , directly on the roof rafters and plywood.
Getting excited and also way over budget.

What a cool project, to have a dedicated room, and to be able to design it.

Sorry I missed this thread. I know you have been studying and planning to build a dedicated audio room for some time. Looks like you are covering all the bases. Fantastic job. How is the progress coming? I can't imagine how anxious you are to get set up in the new space.
Your speakers will really bloom in the new room. Now if you only have enough watts to fill the space.
Hope to be able to hear it.

    AMW?

Fxe02, you were supposed to make the end walls lossy!! Flimsiest construction (think 2x4 frame wall) that would keep weather out.
Solid rigid concrete boxes make many a standing wave....

    Re: New Building-HT/2 Channel

AJ's post reminded me of a Brazilian audiophile who built a dedicated listening room but the corners were open, the bricks were staggered in such a way to be open but keep critters out. I thought that was a great idea but you'd have to live in a constant climate you could stand.
