    Audio Tribbles

Been into audio for 52 years now. I have always prided myself with conservative purchases, while saving for my next acquisition. I never spent beyond my audio fund, and had little or no redundant gear sitting around. About a year ago, I purchased a pair of Falcon LS3/5a’s after attending the 2019 Florida Expo. This was the beginning of the end.

I am out of control, and running out of storage space. Adding insult to injury, I like everything I own. I own 5 pairs of speakers, and multiple power amplifiers, preamps, tonearms, dacs and phono cartridges. And cables? I would rather not go there. I know I should sell stuff, but don’t find the $ alluring enough to make it worth my while. And I keep revisiting my equipment and love my “selection of the week”. Maybe I should just have the producers of “Hoarding” over for a visit. I am very happy with my system and need absolutely nothing. But I have a hankering for a pair of Supra Sword speaker cables.

My hobby went from musical enjoyment to an obsession. I still find it fun, but it is a completely different hobby.

I do have some good advise for you, how to get out of this conundrum: Have a large house, or better several, then you can have “necessary” systems in almost all rooms.

I do have a main system, headphone system, living room system, media room system, and kids system in the main home, and a main summerhouse system, a summerhouse living room system, and am going to add a summerhouse patio system soon.

Very easy way out Audio Tribbles.

Thanks Kuoppis and CPP. I feel better now. I was thinking about renting a house or air conditioned storage garage. How nuts is that ? Driven from my own home by my audio equipment. Kiss the wife goodbye, and go listen to music. And what happens when the secondary place gets overwhelmed ? I think I’ll get a Bose radio and call it quits. Well, that will never happen. In any case, a good “problem” to have. Count your blessings.
