Mike unfortunately that list doesn't appear to having any recent updates. There have been many albums released over the last few months that are not listed.

At some point I would suspect the Roon forum members got tired of doing Tidal and MQA's job for them. At this point the Tidal and MQA relationship appears to be a publicity gimmick more than anything else and probably orchestrated by the new investor/owner. From my experiences the last couple of month's Tidal needs to spend more time being concerned about content delivery with constant interruptions than about MQA or it won't matter.

From day one I have had no issues with Tidal with interruptions or content.

This. I strongly suspect that MQA has a master list of songs that have gotten the MQA treatment so far. From where I'm sitting, there appears to be no practical reason why that list cannot be shared with the public, or at least with subscribers to services like Tidal that offer MQA. If they don't have such a list, then that is a rather troubling indication of disorganization or lack of foresight.

Early on when Tidal introduced MQA recordings to their catalog, not all MQA albums were easily identifiable. That is, Many MQA recordings did not show under the Master tab. So users created that spreadsheet as a way to help other users locate MQA recordings.
I understand that there have been improvements in the Tidal software to better show the entire MQA catalog and that's likely why that spreadsheet is no longer being updated regularly.

There is no method for showing the entire MQA catalog. The Masters page in Tidal is limited to around ~458 titles. The majority of these are the same from when they were initially listed. Maybe 10% having been updated and replaced with a new tile within that ~458 limit.

Yes, in the Tidal app (not Roon yet) you can identify a MQA title by the M in a box located below the listing similar to the E for explicit content box. You can go to an artists page in the Top tidal and list all releases for that artist and see if any are MQA. We are all hoping for something better.

Agree. And also, how is it possible that Tidal does not implement any type of digital tagging that can be recognized by third party software (such as Lumin) and that we may once be depending on MQA file listings? Oh my God, we're in 2017. I love how MQA sounds completely deployed in my Lumin, but if it succeeds in the end it will not be because of Tidal's attitude.

Not sure I understand that Tidal does not implement any type of digital tagging. The Lumin app displays the Album, Artist, tracks, titles of the song(s) and its gets that from whats in Tidal.

Well, maybe Peter can tell us, but my Lumin application tells me that I have 399 MQA albums in Master and we all know that the real number is higher. If there was such a mark the Lumin application could make a "Select" of all the albums marked as MQA and that I know can not do it

Lumin app and Tidal desktop app show the human-edited Recommended Masters category (which shows only a small subset of all the Tidal MQA albums). In our account I see 458 album - I guess the difference in number may be due to regional licensing.

Both apps also show a MQA logo or M next to a music title - based on a tag for each track to identify whether it is MQA or not. So after searching for a particular artist, it is at least possible to browse and look for the MQA logo.

To my knowledge currently there is no way to automatically get the whole list of all Tidal MQA albums. Lumin app relies on the search functionality provided by Tidal, and searching for Masters is not currently possible. Merely having a tag is not sufficient for that (unless we scan each track one by one, but that's not a practical way.)

thanks Peter for clarification. and basically is what I said, tidal not offers software developers, tools to locate albums mqa. I think it has very little logic that indicated that bet by the format mqa, and then make as little by it.

I remember (I'm spending a few days away from home), that if with Lumin app is made a search of MQA, appears an album of a Mozart violin concert. This is so, because in the title of the album is the string of characters MQA. What work would have cost Tidal to include in the album name an "(MQA)" at the end? Search for the albums MQA, would have been very easy and at no cost to Tidal. I think Tidal is not really focused on the customer, although this is not something I should explain to Mike, as this is probably one of the reasons for his success "CLIENT FIRST"

That is a human-edited recommended Tidal Masters list, which contains only several hundred albums. To find more albums you need to search by title or artist. That's why I made the spreadsheet.

Yes. A while ago I learned that my list was far from complete, but have not been able to find the time required to completely rework my methodology, other than a minor improvement. I’m glad there is now a far more complete list.

I checked the list, clicked the tidal MQA albums tab, and under Rush Snakes & Arrows is listed. This album is not on Tidal at all in any form. (I searched Rush and Snakes; nothing) Should I check "No" in the D column?

Found it on Tidal (desktop) , I guess the Florida region has it. I also found it on my Lumin via the app.

On occasion, my Roon search will not find what I'm looking for, but the stand-alone Tidal app will find it. I vaguely recall reading somewhere that there are some titles that are exclusive to Tidal only, but please do not quote me on it. I've never had Roon find something that Tidal did not, however.

I've had the same issue. I've searched in Roon and couldn't find an album in Tidal. As soon as I switch over to the Lumin or Aurender app - poof! - it's there. Strange.

I assume Roon is still a bit of a work in progress, although it's come a long way since I was a beta tester.

It was just the opposite in this instance for me. Not found using the Tidal ap, was found accessing Tidal thru Roon.
